I don't know if there is a PPC game out there worth purchasing. I've tried lots of demos, but they are all pretty basic. Like old school NES games or card/puzzle style games.
Really nothing to get excited about. Emulators are the only thing PPCs have going for them right now and there are so great old games, but they are... not very apealing after playing on a high end computer, an Xbox, a GC and a PS2.
Hopefully the new 3d gfx chips can turn what is an extremely weak market into something half way respectable.
ps don't steal software, its not worth getting in trouble over games you used to play on the C64 & 5.25 floppies. Plus, its wrong or something like that.
hey yoda could u please explain how i get that ps emu workin.. I tried to follow the directions off their site but its kinda confusing..also, what games off ps do u play?

Yeah.. turns out watching flowers grow is as fun as watching grass grow.
I really got it because I wanted fish tycoon which isnt out yet for the ppc and it was 50% off. Not sure fish tycoon will be any better but me and my girlfriend keep fish so this may be a way to get the pda hook into her, so to speak. That will make future purchases a lot easier..
It's very difficult for me to drop even $20 on productivity software--money being what it is. Scarce. Right now I'm in the last day of an Agenda Fusion trial and facing the purchase decision. Great software, btw. Question, of course, is how badly do I 'need' it?
I've never purchased a game for my pda (Ax is new, used a Palm for years) and very few for my computer. I enjoy them, but in terms of priority for my dollar, they rank very low. Generally I look for decent freeware. Sometimes I'll try shareware and demos but drop them when it comes time to buy. Sometimes I'll get hand-me-down software from my brother who's more than willing to buy but loses interest fast.
What games do I have?
Backgammon by Avantgarde Digital (freeware)
Big Two, written by James Lee (freeware)
Dominoes (freeware)
CEZebra (freeware)
I'm very new to the PPC world (my OLD Handspring finaly died) but I am suprised that hardly anyone on this site plays Interactive Fiction games (text adventures) on their Axims. I've played them for years on my Palm device, and the PPC VMs for these games seem to work very well. Interactive Fiction seems like the perfect fit for a handheld device, and there are literaly thousands of legal free games available. Am I just too old school, or are most folks just not aware of them?
There's a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game like that available. Try "Where's My Towel?" HHGTTG Game as google search terms... or search brighthand. Willa, one of the moderator's there hipped me to the program to play it on PPC.

The Inform VM alows you tho play all the old Infocom Games like HHGTTG, Zork and Planetfall, but developers have been making games for this platform as well as TADS for years now. In fact, the 2004 IF Competition just completed a month or so ago.

I used to play them on the Pc... but, on a pda? Typing a sentence is painstakingly difficult. I can't imagine playing an actual text game that involves a lot of typing.
The point-and-click adventures just seem more appropriate to me. Minimal typing and maximum stylus movement.
