I have tried many free games and still use a few.
I have tried demos, usually to see if they are worth buying. (duh)
I have purchaced all of the best games I like.
The trick for me is patience (or Not), wait for a good deal, that is one of the main reasons I Love Aximsite & Daily Gadget, we get the best reports around about what's new, what works or doesn't and where the deals are!!!
Thanks Aximsite! :)

I agree but there aren't alot of (if any) free ones.
The better IF VMs have a Point-n-Tap interface via menus like : Verbs, Actions and Inventory. You can also tap any word in the text for instance cutNpaste. Anything left is easy to do with your favorite handwriting program.

Here's a link for lots of games and VMs it takes to run them on PPC:http://www.microheaven.com/IFGuide/I...pl?step=6&c=11
Sorry, I didn't mean to hi-jack the thread.

Oh... well if they have a point and click type thing.. that's not so bad. I'd actually like to try one of them out. WHere can you get them?

I never buy software, I just get everything I need with freeware alone.

Things arent expensive when you put it in comparison with Gamecube and PS2 games.... my collection of 24 ps2, 11 gamecube, 25 N64, 24 gbc, 8 gba, and 30 sega saturn games. Now THAT was expensive (especially since its all worth about $10 now lol)

I've always like that dominoes game :) I get my games/other things at http://www.freewareppc.com and other places (try googling for pocket pc freeware). I tend to stick to simpler games that take just a few minutes- they pass the time waiting for an appointment to start or a red light to turn green...

I don´t play at all with my X50v (I know many of you will be surprised...). But for general software, it is fair to pay for it. If I like an application and I find useful, I BUY IT! (even when it is so easy to find them for free).

I don't mean that I illegally acquire software that costs money, I just look for freware alternatives to software that costs money.

I really haven't been all that impressed with the game software I've tried so far-so I haven't purchased any and the only games on my axim are the solitaire and jawbreaker that came with it ;p I'd love to have a few more tho' :)

On software as a whole... I especially make use of free trials. In fact, I'd say that I'd have 4 or 5 less programs on my axim if not for the generous trial period offered. I tried a program that only allowed 2 or 3 turn on/off or resets of the axim....since it seemed everything I wanted to test required a reset, I just deleted it and wrote it off as something not worth my time.

sorry for the long post

my cousin has the original version of that game...lol...

the disks are so huge, i was shocked when he showed it to me!

anyway, as for PPC games, I bought 35 bucks worth on handango back in december (frogway, insaniquarium, and snails), and the rest are freeware. i'm also considering coding some of my own when i get some free time (which is pretty much never...)

Too scared to add it all up...

My wife reminds me every now and again, just how "inexpensive" my Dell is. I have owned probably about 10 handhelds, and so a lot of the software has transfered over to the new platform, and a lot has not.

I always pay for the software I like, and with games, books, today plug-ins, it has been quite a bit (I would never, ever have pirated software on my system. Just not okay with it. That's my personal decision and I'm sticking with it. Some of those developers put a lot of thought and effort into the software that I am enjoying, the least I can do is reward them for their efforts.). I would guess around $500 for me as well, just for software. If you add cases, additional stylus, screen protectors, power supplies, well it just gets darn nasty.

Still, love my Axim!!

Best of luck!
