Well, for the NES you need:

The Legend of Zelda (the first videogame I ever played, and still my favorite)
Super Mario Bros.
Mega Man 2, 3, 4, 5
Metroid
Crystalis
Faxanadu
Contra
Final Fantasy
Blaster Master
Gradius
Goonies 2
Gyruss
Guardian Legend

That's a good start. :)

In no particular order...

Essentials:

Arkanoid
Contra
Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3
Paper Boy
Skate or Die
1942
1943 (slightly better than 42)
Legend of Zelda (But that's a given)
Donkey Kong 1 (2 and above suck)
Tetris

Auxiliary (might as well get these too, they're all tiny):
Metroid
Bomberman 1 and 2
Dr. Mario
Duck Tales 1
All the Mega Man games
R.C. Pro-Am
And finally, Marble Madness

NES honestly has the best games of all time. Flashy graphics are nice (I own a PS2, GameCube, and Dreamcast), but they are no substitute for truely ace gameplay. NES had to make due with what little power it had, and some of the developers did a MARVELOUS job cramming an enormous ammount of gameplay into relatively few pixels.

Game Newbie

I too, am a BIG TIME newbie when it comes to playing games, let alone on my PPC. So, here is my question: Is there an application that will allow me to play a game like Super Mario Brothers that has *really nice graphics* by todays standards? If so, what is the app, and how do I install it and get games for it? Thanks!

Links to rom sites are not allowed on the board, so just use a google search.
