Has anyone gotten it it running? I get the perpetual spinning wait symbol and have to soft reset.

I doubt you will find many desperate enough to try...the link for it even states that is prone to crashing and freezing pda's..just not worth the risk to be beta tester imho, maybe if i had a pda sitting around with nothing of value on it and no need for it to actually work.

His description for QEMU says that. There are no warnings for DOSbox on the author's site.

Too bad I can't get it to run, I need pocket X-COM!
Hmm, 1.08 of that weird Russian beta version is out, I will have to give it a try. I hope they keep going. It's not authentic, but it's still cool.

Dosbox is slow but playable. I'm playing X-Com UFO on my X3 and though it's not as smooth as on a PC it's still fun. No sound though, but it hasn't crashed or frozen once in the few weeks I've been using it either.

The russian site has been down for a while. Can anyone provide the X-com UFO v1.17 via e-mail, host link or other route?
I know it's a big ask and possibly breaks some site rule or other, but I need this game - I spent about three years of my life playing it in the late 90's!!!

El Pres, don't get too excited. The Russian game is a knock-off using X-COM's art assets. It's kind of cool, but it is NOT the X-COM you love. It is also still very rough. I do hope they continue to work on it though...
Since you are clearly a man of refined tastes, check out this upcoming GBA game from the makers of X-COM. It looks like it will be a blast.
