is Doom - v1.0 good
i saw Doom - v1.0 at pocketpcfreewares.com and i didnt know if the game was good. has anyone tried it before. thx

Yeah, it's an OK port of the Doom engine. GFDoom is much better IMO: http://home.freeuk.com/gamefreaks/pql/gfDoom.htm
BTW, Doom is a PC game, you'll need some files from it to run either port. (or you can get a shareware 'wad' if you only want to try it out)

If you have played it on a PC, the PPC version will be boring and hard to play.

I'll try gfDoom out in 20 mins or so, and post back :)
And that matrix background you see is through a remote desktop application, it's not the native PDA background

Woah!!
I just dug up my old Doom1 floppy disks and loaded in the WAD file, the game runs brilliantly!!!
The controls are hard to use though, but if you're bored, this is one hell of a fun game to play

Remember that you can control gfDoom using both the stylus and the D-Pad at the same time. I find that combination makes it easy to control.
Also, if you set the Screen Resolution of gfDoom to low (in Video Options), it turns to landscape full screen mode.
