Err I think I was referring to a version that someone posted that was for the x50 and was supposed to be "faster". I actually do have some version of PocketSNES OGL that does run on my x51v, but I don't get good speed with it. It's possible that the version I was going to try out is the same as the x51 version but with the broken check.

As far as I know, there is really only one OGL version: the original for x50v and the original one hacked to support x51v.

That's Correct!
Bluetrane and Emulamer tweaked Tala's Snes Opengl so it can work on X51v and wm5 devices just recently.
Here's a link in a thread bent upon exclusive software for X50v/X51v devices:

OK, then I must have had the x51v version and was trying to hack the x50 version to see if it worked better but it seems that these versions are the same thing. I think I read some post somewhere (which I read with a big grain of salt) saying that some version it linked to was much faster on x50 than the "normal" version, but I don't know where that post is anymore. I think I d/led it to try and it was a different size than the "normal" x50 and x51 versions so I tried quickly to try to hack it in the same way I did for PocketTop, failed, and then gave up. I don't have the EXE or link anymore.
I haven't seen a version yet that gives me decent performance. A game I tried worked at maybe 15 fps with sound off and it was playable at least but not by much. I've been pretty dissapointed in gaming on the X51v so far, but I bought it mostly for music and movies on the plane and in the car (music only in car, obviously!), for which it works amazingly well. Of course I also use it for some PIM as well, but honestly that is a secondary feature for me.

is there any way at all to suspend my x50v while a game is running, without it crashing after unsuspending? it's tedious closing the emulator and re-opening it just for a couple seconds when i'm hopping on and off buses to transfer

gillius both x50v and x51 versions are the same
as for performance try taking auto skip off and set frame skip to 1 if still no good then turn the sound off....
i gave up on emulation awhile ago and just bought a nintendo ds much more enjoyable imho
ds plays gba as well
-----
lat there is nothing that can be done about that. just exit psnes before powering down

I doubt you will get the full 60 fps during all the game. If autoskip and sound (mono) is on, it varies between 48 (inhouse/inwood) and 15 (big map with fog). In battles it's also dropping to 20-30fps. Depends on how much is changing on the screen. It's playable, though.
My x50v is running 624MHz. Switching GapiTweak on or off does not make any difference.

I downloaded the latest version, but it cannot open on my system (an X51 non-VGA) because it says it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or components cannot be found. Anyone have an idea why?

Anybody??? I've seen that others have this exact problem, and I'd like to know if they've found a solution. Could it be something as simple as not having the x51v, but rather the non-VGA x51? In that case, is there a SNES emulator that is designed for WM5 but without VGA?

The PocketSNES in this thread is only for the Axim x50v/x50v with hardware 3d OpenGL support. So for all x50 and x51 devices, you have to use the regular version of PocketSNES.
I'm not sure what is the latest version of that is, but try here:

use setsecurity.exe to turn off the security prompt. it's useless.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that did not solve anything... I still get the same warning as always.

It'd be pretty cool if someone could modify this a bit and make it run in the SNES' hires mode. Then I could play Seiken Densetsu 3. The text doesn't render properly in the current (normal) mode.
And just so I can prove that this is the actual problem, it does the same thing if you disable "hires" in SNES9x (which this emulator is based on)
And just incase anyone wants a bug report: SuperFX emulation seems to be zilch. StarFox does not render properly at all.
Oh, and for those saying that it's only running at 30 FPS, it's full speed. When it reports 30/60, this is full speed. An NTSC TV refreshes at 29.97 frames per second. The 60 fps is technically "fields per second", which is the individual frame. Each frame is drawn twice.
PAL games run at 25/50.

I dunno. I've played Super Mario 3 and Legend of Zelda. And its great. Both my favorite games.
As suggested, I turned off Auto Skip and set it to 1. Worked better. I can't get sound to work, yet its not a big deal. I'm used to playing games on my mobiles without sound anyway. Sound is useless in old school games anyway.
Good times. I have every SNES game. I've only played like 5 of them though. PM me any suggestions for a good few games to play on the Axim. Thanks in advanced.
