Lol this looks good but I'll just stick with Morphgear. It's easier cause it can play all my games.
SNES emulation is faster with PocketSNES both in terms of framerate and sound emulation, than morphgear's implementation.. When playing Chrono Trigger on morphgear I was happy with the frame rate, but the sound seemed very slow and the music rate would change depending on wether or not you were moving and if the screen was scrolling.. but I have none of those issues with PocketSNES

Yeah, as I said earlier sound in Links 3 is fantastic, so is ChronoTrigger, however games like Tecmo Super Bowl 3 the sounds are cartoonish sounding and hard to distinguish, I have it set to full 16k and sync'd but still there. Again I am not complaining, just the fact I can play it is fantastic. Super Mario World All Stars looks beautiful with the new settings as well.

I do have two games so far that won't play well with it.

Smash Tennis (will play but the selection screens are bigger than the device)
Star Fox (I believe I know the limitation with this one is it because of the FX chip in the game?)

But again I say, excellent work. Just to play those few games again is priceless.

I guess you can expect some updates in the future. In particular i think about adding on-screen controls for landscape. I play with the idea of making 2 invisible bottons on the right side of the landscape screen similar to FPSECE. Any better ideas?

I am also moving up to the latest SNES9x core (from 1.39 to 1.43). So the sound will be up to Morphgear standards. There are still some bugs to fix in conjunction with the 1.43 core, but i have it already running here :)

I thought the reason newer versions of morphgear were slower than older ones was due to a newer version of the core? Anyway, my biggest complaint with PSNES is the fact that the speeds aren't nearly as accurate as MorphGear. That's my biggest complaint. Oh, and the fact that there is no "full screen mode" to get rid of the taskbar and the GUI.

Switch your orientation to landscape mode, and then PocketSNES will run in full screen mode..

Assuming you're talking about the X50v (624 MHz), yes, I have tried it overclocked up to 740 MHz. It does manage to sqeeze out 5-10 extra fps. And what you said about making the screen landscape doesn't help me... That does take away the taskbar and GUI, but then it's landscape, which is worthless. I'd like a way to take away the GUI and taskbar and still have it be portrait.

That is the reason i implemented the "frameskip 1" mode in landscape with very exact timing. Infact you will never get such smooth scrolling with other APIs like GAPI or GET_RAW_FRAMEBUFFER. GAPI is per se unsynchronized and the emulator does not even know, when a particular frame is to be displayed. However with OpenGL the emulation engine can be aware of frame timing.
Autoframeskip is halfway accurate, as accurate as unsynchronized can ever be.

Regarding the speed, i found the latest core (1.43) to be about the same speed as the 1.39 core, that is without sound.

So to sum it up, you guys want fullscren for portrait too? That would give the opportunity to enable synchronized frame timing for portrait as well. (It only works really well fullscreen).

Thats the reason i think about on screen control for landscape :p

Yeah, but on-screen controls really never do the trick. Obviously I'm just the end user, and I don't really know what the hell I'm talking about, but if you could get full screen portrait mode with more accurate timming then I would certainly use PocketSNES as my primary emulator.

So, do you have plans on allowing full screen portrait mode with more accurate timming?
