although i wish i had, i never heard any rumors of a starcraft port. there is a game called aregentum(or something like that) and it is somewhat like starcraft.
Starcraft would be aweomse to port, especially if it coudl be made to use standard map files, that would be so awesome since there are so many great maps out there. Back in my SC gaming days I even made a few fun ones, and since they had their own embedded scripting you could make your own mini-games using the map engine.
That would be quite complicated to pull off for a pocket PC, and images and sounds would have to be compressed greatly, movies would have to be dropped (or sized down for a "plus" version for poepl with huge CF cards)
I would be quite amazed if a decent SC port coudl be made so that the game, and a decent number of maps could fit on a 256 MB card, and if they could get it to run.
But if they were to do that, I would definitely download/buy it. I already have argentum though, and that IS pretty good, so I'm not complaining.
i think i remember starcraft being around 60 megs and if u dropped the movies it would greatly drop the size, not to mention bring the screen res down to 320x240 would also greatly reduce file sizes
I'm not sure how difficult it would be to port SC over to the PPC platform. Afterall, they managed to port Age of Empires - a very similar game - with seemingly little problem. It's just a matter of tradeoffs.
Now what could be really fun is a port of SC where all your friends have PPCs and all running wireless LAN cards...
same here,i love starcraft!,now i play warcraft3 on my gf4 card.
i wish i could port it. why not try www.pocketpcpassion.com
and pda buzz, to spead the news.
ever scence i got my axim i wanted starcraft on it,that would be soo cool!
Look for your port of Starcraft to show up around the same time as Starcraft 2....:)
I don't see Blizzard making a big push in this direction yet. They seem to have plenty on their plate with World of Warcraft. And lord knows they take.......their.......time.......on......things.
Still, it's nice to have a dream....

If it was in it's own CF or SD card, I'd pay the $40. I'm thinking that Starcraft would be a huge game to port with all the levels including the expansion, graphics, sounds, music, animation, etc.
