Magnetic Scrolls Interpreter?
Anyone know of a interpreter to run those old Magnetic Scrolls text adventure games on a Pocket PC? There's an interpreter for the Palm OS called Kronos, but I haven't been able to find one for my Axim. Any info is appreciated!

Best,
Tracy Jo

I think theres only the frotz variations for zmachine (Infocom type adventures). Porting Kronos (or rather, Magnetic, which is the engine inside of Kronos for those games) wouldn't be too hard, but I've not done it yet. (I wrote Kronos I'm debating between a few projects right now, so we'll see which ones win out

Wow! I really like Kronos, and I've missed using it since I switched from a Clie to an Axim. From a selfish perspective, I hope you choose the Pocket PC port as your next project. Until then I'll have to make do with frotz. Thanks again for such a cool program.

Best,

There is also PocketTADS, PocketHugo, pGlulx. With the amount of games available for all those platforms, you've got plenty to keep you busy until the ppc version of Kronos is ready.

Another thing you might try is looking in the IF Archives and see if someone has ported any Magnetic games to the other VMs.

There's a new interpreter that's just been released: Magnetic for WinCE. Here's the usenet announcement: http://tinyurl.com/9ug8d

Hopefully he'll add tap-on-word-to-insert, and context-menus .. thats what makes Kronos great imho Tap on a word and it pops up suggestions like "open WORD" and "read WORD" (replacing WORD with the word tapped on, etc.)
