Help testing my freeware game(s)

I've written an app for the Pocket PC that consists of 13 mini-games that I'm going to be releasing as freeware in the next week or two. I was hoping to find some volunteers to test it out.

I don't have access to a wide range of hardware and was hoping some readers of this post might try it out. If you do install it, please send me an email telling me what hardware you ran it on, what games you played and whether you had any problems with it. Also, if your Pocket PC supports landscape mode or VGA, please let me know how the game runs in those modes.

You can download the installer from here:

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/mooregames

Please send any feedback to:

MooreGamesNOSPAM@comcast.net. (remove the NOSPAM from the address).

I hope this post doesn't break any rules of this forum - this is a games related forum and I'm not trying to sell anything.

Thanks.
Rich Moore

Help testing my freeware game(s)

Some people have said they want to see a screenshot or two. I'll be adding them to my web site tonight.

I'll try to add them to this post, my apologizes if it doesn't work.

The Word Hunt game crashed on me. Also it didn't seem to let me build any words.

Help testing my freeware game(s)

I'd love to get more info about the crash you experienced with Word Hunt. Did it crash when it first launched or had you been playing it for a while? Had you been playing other MooreGames before the crash or had you just started the app? What was the error message that you saw?

You are welcome to email me directly to get me all of the details (if you prefer).

As for not being able to create words in Word Hunt, I think it's maybe not intuitive how it works - I definitely need to work on the help before I release it. You need to click on a letter and drag to an adjacent letter (vertically, horizontally or diagonally) to create a word. Let me know if this doesn't work for you.

That's a neat little freeware package you're working on. I could see myself becoming addicted to the YachtZ game.

On my Asus A716, I played all but one or two games once through each. The only thing I noted was, after playing a game of Memory and attempting to close it using the file menu, the Memory icons overrode most of the pop-up window that asks if I really want to close. It still closes if you tap in the right area, but you can't read it because the Memory icons block the view.

I'll take a look for you and let you know.

FYI. If you want to add your email address to a post but prevent it from being picked up for SPAM, go into a program like Photoshop and type it out. You can then save it as an image so it can't be found as an email address.

Simon Says bug

I tried to reproduce the bug you described with high scores on Simon Says, but I couldn't get it to happen. See if I've got the steps right.

- I reset my current Simon Says high scores.
- I played 6 consecutive games, each time always getting just 1 right.
- I always entered the same high score name.
- When all of the above didn't cause the crash, I closed the game and re-opened it but it still didn't crash.

I'd appreciate any more information you can provide.

The games played perfectly on my X3i. Too bad not all of them could be one player.

Have you though of making the rest capable of playing in single player mode against the computer?

You need to have them on a server, not just your C drive...the easiest way is to use schrags site:

http://schrags.com/aximsitehosting.php

just use the browse, select your picture, hit upload and it will give you the link to post here
