Thanks for the help IM0001. If I wanted to buy games I would've gotten a real PS and not get an emulator.

yes, but you need to be careful talking about that. that was the first mention in this thread about illegally downloading game images. when (not if) the mods read this, they'll be sure to close this thread or at least give you a warning for talking about illegal downloads....
(cue super hero music) DP to the rescue!

My ignorance. Sorry. Quick question -- isn't the whole idea of emulators illegal?

i dont think so. not if you purchase the emulation program if you must. and if you rip your own game images. then it is not illegal.
correct me if i am wrong.

Emulators are not illegal, but downloading the games from a site/file sharing service is. Asking for where you can download PSX images because you can download ROMs for other consoles is just stupid. Both activities are illegal and don't belong on this forum board.
The images usually have to be in ISO or BIN/CUE format. Use Alcohol 120% to rip to those file formats.

Go to google and type 'bittorrent'. You need a client to do the DL process...use BitTornado. That is how you get 'stuff'.
...and using bittorrent clients are not illegal, just in case you ask. Also even DLing with bittorrents are not illegal either.
The only thing about the process that IS illegal is if you are a 'tracker'. All the info a growin' boy needs...

It's rare enough not to be on BT. I suggest eMule (ed2k network). I found that Bittorrent really sucks when downloading a whole bunch of files in one archive, like anime. Usually on BT I'd be pulling 35-40KB/sec. On eMule, although each individual file only downloads at about 3-7KB/sec, cumulatively it's downloading at 200KB/sec or higher.
BT is only good for zero day releases where EVERYBODY's downloading it. eMule is better for files that not so many people are sharing but they still exist.

eMule also puts all kinds of spyware and junk on your computer. Hmm... Slower downloads, or wasting time removing spyware... I think most people will choose the first one...

There's a difference between eDonkey2000 and eMule. There's no spyware in eMule.

I was curious what other games you folks find playable (taking into account buttons and such). There's a recycled games store nearby and I'm itchin for more games that work.
I am focusing on playability with the x50v.

Metal Slug X
Tomba
Megaman Series
Haven't tested them, but they're all 2D and seem like they'd run smoothly.
When my X50v arrives, I'm going to try out Brave Fencer Musashi right away. That game was great on the PSX. I can't imagine being able to play it anywhere I go. :approve:

ThunderForce V (runs good, sound is skippy)
All of these games are being run on a X50v with '2700G' enhanced driver setting on Emulamer's 1.11 GAPI Tweak AND using FPSEce .093 (latest version)
Also, I run all my games using the straight .bin file----NO compression and NO ripping out videos and music--.

I tried every game I had and i never got any to work with my axim x30... I just used no compression... maybe my cd's are too scratched
