Games aren't too popular on the Pocket PC, at least not in comparison to regular software apps. This also shows in the fact that companies simply don't gear their button layouts for gamers, but only care about general use. There aren't even any extra hardware we can purchase like a gamepad, etc. So in efforts to boost gaming interest, I'm thinking we should mention to developers what games we'd like to see on the Pocket PC device.

I started the thread, I'll go first:

- Platformers. Similar to the style of Flashback for my tastes, but it'd even be nice to have Metroid or Mega Man style platformers. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have yet to find a single good platformer on the Pocket PC device, and even the crappy ones are lacking (I think I've found two or three, and that's it).

- Diablo style game (action/rpg multiplayer). What's with the lack of multiplayer games? And why haven't we seen a good Diablo clone yet? I'd certainly love to play a Diablo style game on the go. Of course, it must be multiplayer.

- A true, die hard RPG. And please don't point me to Arvale, because there's no way that it competes with the RPGs I hold dearest: Baldur's Gate I & II for the PC. The RPGs found on the Pocket PC are generic in storyline, have no depth, and are just slapped together based on what's already been done a million times over. I want something unique, open ended, and for petes sake, give me a good storyline!

- No more casino and puzzle games. Seriously, how many tetris clones and blackjack variations do we need? I personally wouldn't pay for any, since it's all free via flash games on the internet. Heck, they even have free multiplayer casinos on the 'net. The Pocket PC versions aren't even multiplayer! At least if you're going to make yet another casino pack, for the love of.. where's my multiplayer client filled with "rooms" of other casino junkies?

Feel free to add your own opinions! With any luck, we can turn the Pocket PC into the next Nintendo DS and PSP. If I'm going to spend $300 on a device (PSP), it might as well be for more than gaming. And by gosh, the Pocket PC is it. So here's to hoping.

I would like more side scrollers like Rayman Ultimate, Tyrian, and other games (similar to Neo Geo games like Metal Slug and so fourth. No emu i know of can play thoes) as well as some new 3d racing games like a Need for speed 3 port or something. Now that we have the power I hope devs will take us for a ride. Multiplayer games would be sweet to.

Hey Another game that should get ported that is multiplayer is Gunbound. Worms like game that is multiplayer only.

I would LOVE to see a GTA2 port. Hell, they did it for the Palms, though it was never finished (Only the first level was done.), and only worked on older Palms. EA has come out with Madden 05 and FIFA, so why not have RockStar port GTA2 over to PPC?

I agree with raynnee413, A good in-depth RPG game. I am playing Legacy now but it feels so mid 1990's.

I concur with wyrd. Loved Diablo and Baldurs Gate. It would be great if they came out with some games along those lines with a good story line.

Or Worms for that matter. Personally I think there's a pretty good selection of games right now... I just wish FPSEce supported the x50v better =(

I'd like to see a few games that make more use of the platform. With all the interesting Ideas being used for the Gameboy DS's touch screen I'm amazed that so few ppc games have made use of the screen as part of the gameplay but instead force us all to use the keypad.

Of course a MMPORPG would be interesting!
