Hmm... good deal. As far as the power source goes, a few AAA rechargeables wouldn't take up a whole lot of space. I wonder now how I could make something that could work in both portrait and landscape mode though...
I think I use my x50v more than my PC, so I'm dead set on at least trying this.

I recall an issue with using a standard fold up keyboard on my X5 was 2 things, button lag, and problems mapping the keys.
For some odd reason my dell keyboard always had a delay between button presses when I attempted to play games with it. Its a push.. wait.. screen goes slash. It was connected directly to the port on the x5's bottom.
Button mapping. That was a weird problem. I recall that some games would not take the buttons from a keyboard and pressing X or something yeilded A or something completely weird and would on occasion become unmapped from the keys I setup if it actually took the config.
Didnt know normal bluetooth keyboards work with the PPC tho neat ^_^

If you are set on creating this, and you really cannot solder at all, just let me know what needs to be connected and Id gladly do it for you, then send it back, I have around 6 years of soldering experience, so :)

Good news.. Dan East has finally finished his psx controller adapter for pocket pc's.. It interfaces with the pocket pc via infrared port, and he has already written a customizable driver. His beta testers are saying that there is 0 latency when pushing buttons on the psx controller.. So once you have this, you can construct your own custom enclosure to house the controller and the axim..

Hey, check out this link i found at hackaday.com. Somebody made a PDA joypad from an old NES joypad and an ir keyboard. I did something similar with an old SNES fighter stick and PS pad.
