Question What is a BIOS?

OK, this should be my final thread
All I think I need now is a Bios...How do i get/make one?
Heres what ive done so far:
1 Inserted Frogger into CD Drive.
2 selected cd in IsoBuster
3 made a .iso and a .cue
4 took .iso in Pocket ISO
5 made a .bin, a .bin.z.table, and my original .cue
6 out the .cue into BIOS on the SD Card
7 put the .bin and bin.z.table into ISOS
8 tried running
9 screen goes black, game controller shows then back to main menu.

Any Help?

BIOS stands for Basic Input Output system. It's basically a ROM chiptelling the hardware how boot and telling software how to access the hardware. Some emulators, like FPSE, need an image of that chip.

Typing 'Playstation BIOS' in Google should tell you everything you need.

It's kinda like sharing ROM's, yeah - the BIOS you need depends upon the format of your ISO. If your ISO is PAL (Europe) You'll need a file called "scph7502.bin" If, on the other hand, your ISO is NTSC (US) You'll need "scph1001.bin" IIRC

Googling those file names will provide relevant linkage :D

Oh, and if you need a different BIOS, just give us a shout ;)

Don't bother. It's all luck really. It will work for some and not for others, even if you do the exact same thing. I've seen people get it to work on an X50/X30 and then someone else with the same model try it, doing it the exact same way, and having it not work.

Yeah, but for people like me who know it works, then knowing what to do next will help...
