Big Smile "MYST" For Pocket PC

Hello Everyone:

Cyan has licensed Mean Hamster Software to port the PC game "MYST" to pocket Pc format. I was one of the original players of that game when it came out around 1993. If any of you played the game, and loved it, then you will NOT be disappointed by the Pocket Pc version. I purchased it from PocketGear.com ($24.95) and installed it on my Axim X50v. Let me tell you, the game plays exactly like the PC version, and it is very fast, with no lagging of any type. The sound effects and eye candy graphics is excellent and is just like the PC version. Switch your screen to landscape mode and "Wow", it will blow you away. For those of you who do not know of Myst, it is an advanture game where you are trying to solve puzzles for clues as to what has happened to the story's characters family. There is no shooting of any type, so if you are the action game type you may not like this game. You cannot die in the game, BUT at the end, you can end up ??? If I tell you that, I could spoil the game for you. My opinion: The game is excellent.

The Pocket PC doesn't seem to be there yet for this type of game. I bought Atlantis Redux on special and was so disappointed that I asked for my money back (and got it!). I'll stick with Hot Death Uno, I guess. It's just plain unpleasant to look at these games which are high resolution eye candy on a PII 400 and see them crawl along with pixelated images on my x50v.

I got Myst for PPC and was very disappointed in it. The graphics were dark and hard to see in spots. I played the original and there were a couple areas where I knew there was something on the screen but I couldn't see it because of the graphics. My personal suggestion to anyone looking at this title is to save your money.

That's awesome that you actually got your money back. Usually companies like that will give it to you in the form of a "credit".
