Blitzkreig: War in Europe, now on PPC

If anyone has played this strategy game on the palm; it has now been ported over to PPC. I bought it the other day upon recommendation from a Palm-using friend (BTW- on special to the end of the month) and it seems pretty good. If you buy it from pocketgear it is $9.95 to the end of the month (less a further 15% use code PGPASS if before 24th April 2005)

Thought I'd mention it !

Thanks for the heads-up, coolabah. I spent many, many hours playing Panzer General, Allied General, and (my favourites) Steel Panthers I and II on my PC. For anyone interested in turn-based strategy war games, I'd recommend at least checking out the demo of the PPC port.

While the interface is simple, these type of games can be tough to learn how to beat the enemy.

Go here for Blitzkrieg.

Wow, this looks great. I'm a big fan of realistic turn-based wargames. Downloading it. Thanks for sharing the info !

Aaah, if they could port Hearts of Iron and Europa Universalis 2 on PPC now, I would be in heaven...
(Though I don't know how could I spend more than the 6 hours per night I spend on HoI 2 on my PC currently...)

I should add, the Blitzkrieg developers have been thoughtful enough to release the game as a .CAB file. So if you have CABInstl from SK Software, then you have the option to put the game easily into its own folder on, for example, an SD card.

EDIT: SK Software were generous enough to give us CABInstl as a freebie, the least I can do is get their name correct! Fixed.

Well another option is to move the game manually through ActiveSync after you've installed it
I do that all the time (sometimes it's necessary to update the path in the registry, but in 90% of cases, it just works)

And a third option is to retrieve the CAB file from your PC install directory (There's ALWAYS a cab file) to install it yourself with CabInstl, rather than the automatic install.

OK sorry here is also the pocketgear link. If you like the game and you're quick you get a further $1.49 off using code PGPASS at checkout. I've been playing this ALL DAY and it rocks !!!! AI seems smarter than me which is always a worry.....

PS I also used cabinstl -> onto SD card and seems to work fine- nothing seems to go into main memory at all ??!!

Absolutely ! But this is unusual- you only GET the cab file in this case !!! You transfer the cab file to PPC and go from there. So if you don't have/download cabinstl it 'might' install into main memory (don't know, didn't risk it ! )

I did not even bother to download the demo. Panzer General had to be one of my all time favourite games. I bought it, now. Thanks loads for the heads up on this game.
