Full Hand Casino Install?

I have an Axim X5 and I purchased Full Hand Casino. I have no idea how to install it. I downloaded the install zip to my PC. I Active-Synched between the PC and the Axim. I ran the setup file and it did all its self-extracting stuff but it stored all of it on my PC's C:\ drive. How should I have done this? Can you run a setup.exe from the Axim? Can I tell the setup file to write to the Axim? I thought it was going to do that since it asked me to confirm that my synch was active. Any help you can offer will be appreciated.

Did it pop up the default location to your pocket pc as to where to store it? Most programs open to your PC's hard drive and make a directory there to unistall if need be. I hate that, but I have not taken the time to learn how to install .cabs.

Check and see if it already loaded into your X5

OH, and welcome to the Aximsite!

It should have tried to load it up on your PPC. Connect via AS and then choose the Add/Remove programs option (from AS) and see if it's listed in there.

It's getting worse. I placed the axim back in the cradle and the program loaded. I went to Programs found the game, clicked on the icon and now I've got a completely black screen. No Start, no icons of any type, just a black screen. Am I hosed? Should I do a hard re-set? Would that help or do you think this program wrote something to my axim that has totally screwed it up? Lots of questions. By the way thanks for the responses so quickly (above).

Forgot to mention that I've powered up and down hoping to get a different screen. No luck.

Got the axim back with the soft reset but still don't have the program. There's one file "casino.exe" in the programs folder. Should I delete it and try the install again?

Yep. Do that.

Did you install it to the default location?

Yes, installed to the default location. Still getting a black screen. Uninstalled (removed) and reinstalled - still nothing but a black screen. I can get the screen back by resetting. I've removed the program and the folder but I've still got the icon on my "desktop". Not sure if that's significant.

Hmm Help Installing Full Hand Casino

Have an Axim X5, it's about 20 months old and works fine in all respects. I bought a copy of Full Hand Casino, downloaded the zip to my PC hard-drive. I active synched and ran the install from my PC. I used the "Install Programs" and all looked good. However when I run the game, I get a black screen. I have to reset in order to get rid of this black screen.

A search of the games folder on the axim reveals that only a single file is being installed. The file is casino.exe. This is sort of suspicious because the set execuatable zip that I used to install the game is over 5 megs in size and has 3 zipped cab files. I think the programs folder should have more than the single "exe" file.

It appears that installation is stalling or ceasing mid-way through the process. OR (and this is much more likely) I'm screwing something up when I try to do the install.

Any tips on installing Full Hand Casino? Anyone else ever have this problem? If so, did you overcome it?

Thanks,

Thanks for merging these. I was hoping to find someone in the games forum who has experienced this. I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times over the weekend but go nowhere. I'm using the add remove programs, it comes up and says it needs to update a .dll file. I've tried it both ways (no and yes) and the next step of the install shows the progressive blue rectangles moving left to right, just like the program is moving from my PC to my Axim. What it's actually doing at this point is moving a single file; casino.exe and without the rest of the files installed, the program won't run. As expressed above, I'll be grateful for any suggestions (especially good ones
