Just remember.. this is *not* Warcraft II. It is Strategus engine, with the Warcraft artwork applied, and the scripts set up to make it more or less feal like WC. But it is not WC2.

How did you get sound to work? Any way to save a game?

Read the sound thread, then read the save game thread. Is it really that hard?

Try ebay

or

amazon

Just make sure that you don't buy the battle.net version because i guess it won't work. You know that you don't need the disk for wargus to work. Only if you want sound to work.

The stratagus executables have been updated again on the 13th, but these last couple of releases for VGA at least just are unable to run on my x50v.. I know that it says it needs 40MB of free ram to run, but the first versions didnt need nearly that much, and still run fine with sound even

here are the release notes, but cant really say as the VGA version refuses to load on the x50v, takes way more memory than the first couple of releases

Full release (Updated 13.06.2005)
http://n0p.averest-k.ru/stratagusQVGA.rar
+ Some PUD loader fixes
>02.06.2005
+ Implemented mamaich's trick with memory mapped files. Sprites are stored outside process memory.
+ Compiled for XScale
+ Scroll area reduced
+ Fog of War optimized a bit
>12.05.2005
+ Load game function changed to directly load from file, not a buffer. Packed saves are no longer supported. Please unpack your saved games using WinZip or similar.
This SHOULD reduce save/load problems.
+ Screen orientation change added. Use "Fullscreen" setting to set left/right screen rotation. .
>11.05.2005
+ Fixes bug caused to hang briefing screen with music enabled
>10.05.2005
+ UI (imho) now polished.
+ Very small font for messages. You'll read'em if you need'em ;)
+ A bit cut-down libmikmod added (supports MOD, S3M, XM, IT). Please edit playlist in sounds.lua to add your tracked music. I suggest using simple 4-channel mods to reduce sound skipping.
+ Annoyed unit sounds are fixed (not my fault). English sounds in archive.
+ Campaign script is fixed again. (again, not my fault).
+ Error are now should be in strerr.txt.
+ PUD loader fixed (was a place with unit size hardcoded).
+ Unit "Action" command is now by holding HWKey2 and tapping.
- Stats screen disabled. Too lazy to rewrite positions. I dont need it anyway.
... And maybe something i forgot.
Known bugs:
Game quits on save/load (now mainly on save).
