Atomic Cannon framerate
On my X30H, Atomic Cannon ran quite fast and smooth. On my X50V, it's fairly slow. I've turned off smoke, and I think the framerate is a bit better, but now during shots the FPS is still only about 15 (though better than 9, as before).
Any tips on making Atomic Cannon run smoother?

Are you running the newest version (2.0?) If you are, I assume it's running in VGA mode. If you have a pre-2.0 version, try the new one - it rocks! Otherwise, I'd contact the folks at Isotope 244, and let them know it is running slowly. (It has NO lag on my X5 with all graphics options enabled) They are great when it comes to customer service.
This has to be one of the most addictive games on my PDA - my wife, kids and I ALWAYS play this when we are at the movies (in line and waiting for the previews), sitting at a restaurant waiting for our order, etc. It is a great time killer! :) Plus the kids love "blowing up" the parents! :)

I noticed something in version 2.0 that I hadn't seen in other versions: when you change your firing angle, the cross that helps you aim your shot stays printed on-screen on its initial place. When you finish aiming, you end up with two crosses.
Has anyone else noticed this? Not a great problem, but a little annoying...

It's actually a "feature" that lets you see your last targeting point - useful for determining how much to "tweak" your next shot if it was either too close or too far from your opponent. :)

Have you tried the beam weapons yet? The Wave beam is awesome - simply aim DIRECTLY at your opponent, and regardless of mountains or other obstacles, it cuts thru them and does about 30% damage! :)

This game is so great, they should just write Scorched Earth clone in the description so other people aren't turned off by the fancy graphics :).

I agree! I even bought the PC version - it's awesome on our TabletPC laptop and our regular laptop. Addictive!

Yes, I have 2.0...it doesn't run incredibly slowly or anything, but definitely not as smooth as it was on my X30H. I have a feeling that it's because it runs in VGA, whereas the X5 is QVGA. I'll maybe email them and see if they have any ideas.

I'm trying the organic weapons now. There is a "pig" that does really serious damage

I don't know about you guys but the lowest I ever get is 15. I usually get 25. This is with the processor set to power-saving.
