Question Overclocking FAQ

Hey, Im not sure if I want to overclock. I have an X50mid, and im not sure if I can actually achiece the 724mhz mark. Will ocerclocking rune my processor? What are the negative effects on my Axim? Will It drastically improve my emulation? Whats you guy's oppinion?

I wouldn't recommend it. The ax seems to go fast enough. This will reduce batery life...

Well, lets put it this way... When I tried the demo of the overclocking program, I had to end up doing a hard reset, and install eveything from scratch.

You seem to want to try it. Make a good backup onto a SD or CF and go for it. Dont push the device too hard and just go up a little at a time.

I prefer the lightbulb comparison. At 3 volts, the light is bright, at 4.5 volts its really bright, at 6 volts it gets reallly bright then dies.

Either way, the hardware will eventually burn out but overclocking just makes it work harder.
