MorphGear in landscape?
I'm fairly certainly I already know the answer.. but I'm hoping I'm wrong

MG can be told to run in landscape (east or west orientation in global preferences), but it really doesn'y seam useful at all. ie: In this mode, theres no virtual control pad on the right side, so you're still left with only the standard buttons on the device left side.. so you can, in an RPG say, walk around, but no easy way to do anything (press buttons.) ie: The landscape mode is almost useless.

Or am I missing something obvious? Can the virtual control pad be invoked somehow?

Some emus/apps support on-screen tapping for controls; fpsece does a good job of it, letting you assign a region to a function. My recent Beats of Rage plays very well IMHO with corner-taps for actions. One of my emus on Palm OS plays very well with screen taps by the thumb to play..

da1writer -- any chance you've heard of something in the works?

MG itself is OSS nowadays, though I've not looked into the relationship between the morph-modules and the launcher, but perhaps its possible to hack something in. I'm already very tight on cycles so hoping someone else can do it

If I get time for PoPC hacking, I'll do some more Beatsd of Rage stuff, and maybe work on my Descent hackery..

Our original Skins team was thinking about doing the landscape hack/patch (ie Fpsece onscreen buttons wether landscape or portrait)and possibly a moveable Virtual pad (meaning you can put it anywhere on the screen.) Jadue and VDDZ were these candidates but they keep disappearing off the face of the earth (similar to Tala and SeanX/Mr.X) and so the project has not died but has been put on hold unless someone wants to pick it up. If you feel you have the time and patience to do such a gracious hack/patch, don't hesitate to email me or Aaron. We could possibly give you a few tips in what to do ...

I'm super tight on time, so the most I'd even think about doing would be a cheap hack, but nothing pretty. (ie: Like I've dor for BOR .. finger tap bottom right maps to this function

*shrug*
