Galaga...

Has anyone downloaded the full version of Galaga from PocketGear?
It looks and sounds just like the original! Problem is, I downloaded the trial-version and it lets you play for about four seconds before asking you to register. I guess I should have known because it was only some 300Kb.
Is it worth buying?

Be sure to look at:
G-Prime from Brain Drain.
Very good graphics and the same game, but you have 2 dementions, up/dn/left/right. Almost identical to galiga.
Demo lets you play a round or two and some special bonus metor round. There are also several different firing modes with power ups.

I love galaga, it's my alltime favorite. Let us know you're experience. I used to play it on my old palm in b & w and it was still good. Color should be awesome.

How well does it play? I have an axim X50v and I wonder about controlling the ship with the tiny D-pad.

I have just tried the demo and this game is very good and easy to control with the stylus on my x30h. Action and graphics very nice. I will be buying it.

I bought it a couple of weeks ago and it is very easy to control on the X50v. Of course being easy to control and easy to play are two different stories. It's still the same bbuster it was back in the arcades.

Are there any stand-alone arcades left anywhere other than in amusement parks or dedicated gaming buildings like bowling alleys or go cart courses, minigolf courses? The City of Boston has none anymore.

We have several here in Florida...I know in Gainesville there was a little arcade in the mall. Down in Ft. Lauderdale there's a place called Boomer's (will always be Grand Prix to me!) that's a HUGE arcade complex. While they have miniature golf, a couple roller coasters, laser tag, and what they advertise as the largest go-cart course in the world (it is pretty big) they are an enormous arcade. They have 2 different buildings for all their machines.

Then there's always Game Works and D&B for the 'older' crowd. I'd rather go to one of those personally than an arcade full of kids. (Though, I sure used to hate D&B's stupid rules! Not so stupid these days ;) )

totally worth $10 IF you enjoy the game in the first place. It is an exact version of the arcade.
I never feel justified to pay more than a certain amount for pda games, but i plunked down the dough for this one.
