Just an FYI .. the 'overlay' buttons on the screen are hints, but its actually much more forgiving with where you can tap your finger; let me know if you think I should enlarge or shrink the regions.. ie: They're all the same width, so I could extend them more towards the center if needed; further, I couild extend the height of one button by shrinking another..
Ok I like this game and all. But I have a couple of problems the little guy on the screen keeps getting stuck. He'll be fine and then he won't go up or sometimes down or sometimes right or left. but he'll be able to jump or hit still. Also the action and jump overlays respond the same only as action even with the stylus. If it works great for everyone else I don't see why I would have a problem.
For the action.. try tapping in the middle, and down in the corner; they're definately different. Maybe not many people are testing and reporting back, or perhaps your device isn't accurate in the screen in those areas?
In the Castlevania mod, the player does get 'stuck' looking sometimes due to the 'flying guys' .. the engine wasnt' built to support flyers much, so the modder simulated it by making a tall sprite with nothing in the bottom 3/4 of it, so it blocks left/right movement because its there, but it *looks* like its flying.
Try some of the other mods, like the big 50MB Beats of Rage main MOD from the main Beats of Rage site, or the like, and see how they work..

I figured out my problem right after I posted. And I don't know if it has been touched on before. I have the X50V that I run with se_vga all the time. Some games work with it on others won't run at all. This one is sort of in the middle. It runs and switches the sreen resolution back to Qvga but the digitizer still thinks it is in VGA mode so the overlays don't line up and are too small( if you know what I mean, maybe I am not explaining it too well). So switch back to Qvga before playing this.
But only the original BOR 50Mb mod and the small .pak that comes with the .005 version seem to be showed by the pak picker...
Can Anyone help me?
Thank You!
Its been years since I cobbled that together.. is it possible theres a case sensitivity issue? Do the working ones always use the same case of the filename extension, perhaps? Or perhapos filename length?
I don't think thats it ... It doesn't make sense that I'd add such a thing, nor does it make sense as a programattic error. Besides, the Castlevania pak works fine, as do others.. I did a fair amount of testing back in the day with various PAKs.
I imagine its a case error, as Windows makes a mess of cases (showing you one, while storing another.) Perhaps a length of filename issue as well.
I shall have to fix it and make another release sometime :P Sound would be nice as well :)
Ok.... I know it's very strange... But Castelvania mod 's name is "bor_cast.pak"...So it also starts with 'b'
If I rename it in "or_cast.pak" it does not load anymore...
