Any help would be appreciated. I am stuck after getting the half gold statue from the Dark Heart Room in Neriak. I went back to the town and found Hordle John, but he will not talk to me. I show the first 5 quest as complete, but cannot get an active quest going for 5 or 6 although both show. Help!

If I remember correctly, I had the same problem. I eventually went back to Neriak, talked to some people and got things going again.

I think you may be missing a quest. Tell me the titles of the ones you have done as well as the ones you need help on.

To start quest 6 (befallen quest), you need to talk to a blue guy that's guarding the entrance to Befallen. He's to the area west of the west commonlands at the far south east.

To start quest 7 (neriak library of magic), you need to talk to Hemmael the Hermit who is at the far northwest corner of the west commonlands.

Thanks for the replies. I actually exhausted my battery two times this week while on the road trying to find something that I've missed. I have not yet gone back through Neriak - I will try this evening.

The quests that I have completed thus far are:

Your Adventures Begin
The Academy Librarian
Tghe Trouble with Orcs
Road Trip to Neriak
The Ancient City of Nordok

Each of these show all quests completed. The last completed item in the City of Nordok was to kill the occupants of the Dark Heart Room. The last piece of information in this quest was to talk to Hordle John back in town, but doing so does not produce any results.

The two quests which show in my quest log, but do not offer any open quests are:

Befallen
Neriak Library of Magic

Again, any help would be appreciated.

Ok... Befallen is located along the southern border of the West Commonlands. You need to talk to the guard there. Might as well go in just in case it's needed... the first door is locked, so you won't have to fight any enemies. Somehow, you'll learn that someone has deserted his post. This will start the quest, as you next have to talk to Captain Vidome to get permission to enter Befallen.

About the next quest. Someone in the town you start in (I forget who... maybe Hordle John) talks about your books. Then, talk to the other guy in that town near the stables (far northern section). Eventually, you'll get the first quest item, which is to find Hemmael the Hermit. He's in the far northwestern corner of the West Commonlands. You have to walk up close to his fence to talk to him. That should get you started on that quest.

Thanks Aardwolf! Apaprently in my frustration, I never went all the way into the crevice in the southern portion of the West Commonlands. Now that I've managed to get the quests active again, I can once again see all of my productivity at work go to heck in a handbag, as well as have my wife wonder if I'm ever going to put that darn thing down :-). Thanks again!
