Need for Speed : High Stakes racing is all about knowing your limits and exceeding them-whatever the cost. It's up to you and your lead foot to customize your dream machine and earn exclusive super cars to earn that prized cash! Cars range from the speed demon, Porsche 911, to the beastly Mclaren F1 GTR. If you're looking for the American dream, customize the Corvette to your liking. Cars are detailed, glossy, and revving to go, but watch out for traffic. Reckless driving could result in dings, dents, scratches, or complete destruction of your dream car. Accept the ultimate challenge! Enter duels against your opponents for pink slips--lose the race-- lose your car!
Great graphics!!! I've been running a beta of it for a few weeks now, and the graphics really impressed me. One of the best graphics from a road racing game yet. The controls are very loose though....so therefore, I do not like the gameplay that much.
There is another game called Racing Days that I have also been testing out lately. It is more of a Nascar type racing game....it also has very impressive graphics, but the controls are still just as loose.
Both games are in landscape. The hardware buttons are used for accel, braking, Point-of-View, etc. The stylus is used on screen for steering left-right. The sensitivity of the steering is EXTREMELY high, causing the car to swerve all over the place. This is experienced in both games. The control options in both games don't compensate for the steering sensitivity at all. Maybe this will improve in the final version of NFS....or maybe others will have better luck at figuring out the "proper" way to control the cars. Maybe I just really suck at these games?
:)
i am a NFS beta tester and so far so good. amazing graphics and sounds. once u get good at controlling the cars(which is hard) u get good at the game and it becomes very fun. 911 carera rules!!!
no i dont belive so, i hope they are working on one for the release. by the way i dont think zio soft should charge 30$ for nfs. i think a decent price is 15$
Yes, mustang is correct. The beta does not have any way to adjust the steering sensitivity. I don't know if their fixing this before final release or not....but if they don't, then I advise to demo before buying!! Also, I agree about the price. Unless the final version gameplay is drastically improved, there is no way that I'll pay $30 for it. I've still been trying to play, but steering is still as horrible as ever. I just can't get control of the car enough to enjoy the game. Again, this will hopefully change with the final build. Let's wait and see.

i also think ziosoft charged a bit to much for there software, altho they are great games.

You can't download the beta. You had to be selected to test the game in order to receive it. Most companies use this strategy to allow hardcore users to test their software first and report any bugs. These bugs are then looked into before the final release to the open public.
