PocketSNES (w/ OpenGL) - AXim x50v problems

Hi,

I copied PocketSNES with OpenGL (the version that was posted here) onto my axim x50v and the games run fine. UNTIL i try turning on the sound. As soon as I enable sound, my FPS drops to below 30 and the game gets kinda choppy/laggy. Is there any way to make this run without lagging and getting choppy? I know the axim should be able to easily play these SNES games.

Thanks!

Sorry dude, you're about where we all are at this stage. For myself, games like Mario All Stars work fine with sound (although for me, anything more than 20fps is "fine"), but FFIII? Forget it. Gotta turn sound off.

I think there's a lot of room for development here, and it just hasn't happened yet. Patience is best, though.

What I don't understand is why, way back when the iPaq 2200 first came out, there was so much squawking about "full speed FFIII and Chrono Trigger with sound" when that couldn't have possibly been true. But then, for some hype-mongers, 12 FPS = "full speed".

EDIT: By the way, if a game a little slow with sound, try using a standard frame-skip rating like 2 or 3 instead of auto-frame skip, which gobbles up more processor cycles.
