Bluetooth Game Controller Price Drop!

x10 found this link to the chainpus bluetooth gamepad at Brando for $50USD. That's half-off the original selling price of this thing.

No, but I think $50 is a much better selling price. Stupid bluetooth devices and their high cost...

Agree with DanmanX. I'm sure it makes less than a few $$. I just can't understand why BT devices are still expensive.

Is it more fun to play with a gamepad? Or just more comfortable?

I guess when it's more comfortable, it's more fun. =)

ooh, hello... i suppose i should voice out my thoughts on the controller.

The controller is basically a godsend, particularly to me and my i-mate Jam (as the pad doesn't support diagonals). I was surprised at the quality of the controller. I was expecting the garbage quality of all the controllers on the PC market. But since I was so desperate to play games on my phone, I figured I'd give it a whirl. Much to my disbelief, the controller works magically. SNES games play nearly perfect, and a lot of games (such as Anthelion and Flux Challenge) are a lot tastier this time around. All in all, the controller is a great buy... ESPECIALLY for freaking $50 (bastards! i've only had mine for 2 weeks!!)

Any downsides? Of course there are downsides. Most notably, the battery life. This thing will absolutely RAPE your AAA batteries. I believe the battery life is 3 hours, felt like so much less in my opinion. I don't even recall playing with it all that much. My other complaint is that there is a slight delay between button press and on-screen action the further you get from the device. I was hoping to play from a few feet away, but that got deaded pretty quickly. Luckily my Jam fits in the controller, unlike the Axim. :P suckers lol

Anyway, if you're willing to overlook those negatives (plus the fact that you'd have to sit the Axim elsewhere while you hold the controller), then definitely give this piece of work a shot. For me and everyone knowing what a cell phone is (as opposed to a pocket PC), it's great bragging material. "Yo, you have a controller for your phone?!? That's sick!!" Us tech junkies have a reputation to live up to, and I think this makes a wonderful addition to the arsenal.

I almost bought one till I scrolled down and read it's too small for an X50v.

What the f***?!

I would buy it if it weren't for the fact that it was too small for my X50v. It looks like some people are considering finding a way to mod it. Maybe if someone is succesful in that then I'll buy it.

Not too shabby, it's just time to invest in some fancy NiMH batteries.

Man, I love those things.

Even with the width problems on X30s/50s, I'll just prop it up it my car mount and kick back and beat the hell out of goombas, shyguy's and slimes!

Hey that's a good idea! I car mount with a heavy base created to use without the car. I'll have to look into that. :approve:

why not just sit it in the cradle? I've put mine on the dash of my car so I could read directions while driving. Other than the little bit of velcro sitting there, it works quite well.

I'm surprised the manufacturer hasn't considered the PDA market for this gamepad. I'm in the same boat, I want one but I'm not diving in until someone's modded it to fit or the Manufacturer comes out with a version for PDAs.

Doesn't it still fit the axim in portrait view? I've seen one fit to an axim before, I'm almost certain. Only game I play in landscape is Quake, and a gamepad is no good for quake.
