are quake, AoE, myst, the only games with good graphics?

like 3d ones that don't look like you can run on an old gameboy? I'm surprised theres no morrowind ported to ppc, or sims 1... or any other old pc games with pc'ish looking graphix.

??

i dont think the myst graphics are good at all

try these, i think they have really good graphics:

atlantis redux (cinematics are great)
arvale (for what its worth, the graphics are good for the rpg genre)
bejeweled 2 (simple & complex at the same time)
flux challenge (the best graphics ive come across. period)
gilbert goodmate (graphics like monkey island, good for ppc)
street duel (awesome racing graphics)
worms world party (just like the pc or console versions, GREAT)

The backgrounds in myst are all still images so it was easy to give it good graphics. Also everyone remember graphics dont make the game :approve:

Definitely; Most fun I've had on my x50v is by being able to emulate just about any game you can think of before 1994 or so (Maniac Mansion ruled, to bad I already know all the stuff in it...). As far as graphics go, if you can get PSX to work on it that would probably be the best. 1000 games to choose from.

Yup, graphics definatly dont, which is why I hate people who say the Xbox is better than the PS2 because of graphics

Chrono Trigger for Snes is one of my favorite games of all time, and the graphics are fairly simple

Yeah, everyone knows Xbox is better because it has better games. That is, of course, if you aren't a big fan of Japanesse/anime type games like the later FF games. Otherwise, if you like those kinds of games, PS2 is the system to get.

Oh yeah, the Axim. 3d gfx are more than just eye candy, they open up a 3rd plane with which you can create FPSers or any first person/third person style game. It opens up new avenues in game mechanics.

I'd love to see someone put the 2700g to good use, but was way wrong back when I thought devs would use it. PPC gaming is a wasteland inhabited by emulators and a few ultra-budget SNES like games.

Its a shame really. The x50v can do a lot of what the PSP can do (and somethings it can't) and ALL of what the DS can do yet we're left with virtually nothing of that quality.

Seriously, Nintendo has done more with a stylus for gaming than anyone has ever done with a PPC and it took them less than a year to do it (2 if you take into account a generous dev period). Plus, most of the concepts are so simple and low tech that the people who made Arvale (sp?) or any of those other games could have easily done the same. It just took a little creativity that I hope rolls over into the PPC gaming market.

I've got a DS and a PSP, but the PPC is the only one I carry everywhere, so it'd be nice to have something other than emulators to play with when I find a few free minutes.

/rant

I guess I shouldn't be too hard on PPC game devs since theres probably no money in it, but then again some of these DS games that are pretty good (wario ware, yoshi touch and go, games like those) could be done for most PPCs without major budgets.

ya, no kidding eh, think about the money nintendo can make by importing some of their ds games onto ppc. They'll have a monopoly over handheld ppc/palm gaming in like a month.

about psx games: nah, i doubt theres any GOOD ones left that i haven't at one point or another, played. And all the REALLY GOOD ones, the ones worth beating, i've already beated. like final fantasy 7,8,9... maybe i could try vagabond's tale, but those games take up so much damn space
