Stratagus updates

I was going to delete stratagus (warcraft 2) off of my x50v this morning as I could never get the VGA version (after v1) actually working. would always get out of memory errors...

I decided to look first though and saw that they updated it on 7/25, and I can actually play this version... now playing the campaign I do get some low memory warnings, but i can exit out of those and the game still plays... I have a total of 33MB of memory , not sure how all devices will handle it though..

I downloaded the VGA version today, runs pretty well. The only problem is that the program gets confused when I tap the corner of the screen, the keyboard interface comes up and the entire thing screws up.

to fix that simply close the file explorer window after running the app. it gets confused because of the text entry selector. with the today screen showing this does not happen in game.

also this game uses gapi. to get a few more fps, install picard's/emulamer's gapi tweak. I find it runs slightly better set to 2700g but im curious to see what you guys think :)

Amazing! That worked awesome! Much faster with the tweaked driver (2700g setting) and no longer gets confused with the keyboard! Thanks blutrane!

Does anyone know if it's possible to enable sound? My Warcraft 2 CD is lying somewhere in my closet, but would it be as easy as just copying all the files over into the respective directories?

there is another thread on here talking about sound... it is pretty simple to do (just editing the sound config file) but the problem lies in the fact that the game loads all the wav files at game startup, and if you start adding too many sound, the game crashes...

I was able to get sound in the first version, but due to the higher memory requirements at the moment, I havent tried to enable sound again. and here is the sound thread..

Edit: okay tried the sound file.. and it works.. i do get some low program memory errors when loading, but i can just click okay and go on... and the sound works fine at least in the beginning...

As for memory errors, does it mean RAM errors or storage space memory errors? If I got a 4GB microdrive, would it make a difference?

For some strange reason, it no longer lets me run the game in 2700g mode, after I start a new campaign, Stratagus just closes itself.

i mean ram memory errors, I have plenty of storage.. it doesnt take up that much

after the upgrade to windows mobile 5 we should able to load the all the sounds and have ram to spare ... unless there is no GAPI support in which case it won't work at all.

i have had no problems with campaigns. Are you sure you didnt alter your game files at all? if it is still giving you problems you can fiddle with the campaign.lua file... maybe a hard reset and reinstall of the GAPI tweak might do the trick.
