Cheryl we're testing V1.10 at present and it has some awesome never seen before features. PM me and I'll tell you how to join the private forum. Perhaps we can get to the bottom of this issue too as some of the testers are sure to have seen it.
Then there are the 100s of beta testers who tested it without a hitch. Come on if you downloaded it elsewhere at least be honest about it.
I understand if you don't want to entertain this idea, but what if we had one of the eMule (or whatever it is) users send their "dodgy" copy to you, me and a mod here with an X50v.
You can compare the checksums on the downloaded file and the "good" source file.
I can try the "bad" file on my 4150 (HP) and see if I can reproduce the problem.
We can have a mod here try to reproduce the problem on an X50v.
You can try it on whatever devices you have and see if you have similar results.

The problem there is that if somebody had their device hard reset then most likely they are cheesed off. They are bound to say the legitimate versions are dodgy as that is human nature. All they need to do is send you the genuine version and tell you it was the dodgy one. You will never know. What you could do is download a genuine copy from our site. See if it does anything untoward. Then later, install Emule and look for a cracked version there.
If someone sends all three of us the legitimate version then we will be unable to reproduce the problem in any of the scenarios -and- the files checksum will be the same.
I have no plans to install eMule :)

Please don't take offence but I don't believe you. We've distributed 1000's via HP with not a single incident. In any case it isn't available anywhere else, only through us. It's IMPOSSIBLE for it to reset your device and we're willing to submit it to any independent authority for testing to prove it.
The very first time we heard of this issue it was somebody claiming they got it from our site. After about 5 emails and after asking them to send us their file they admitted it was from a share network.
You may or you may not believe me. After all it is me who knows where the file is from. As a software developer you should be open to accept the possibility of a bug in your software.
I don't do emule or other P2P networks. I have very little software on my PPC (and PC for that matter), but proudly it's all honest software.

I'm actually hoping that we can get a supposedly flawed copy and a known legitimate copy and see if they are the same. If they are different files with the same checksum then you probably want to hire whoever did it :)
If someone wants to send me the emule'd file (PM me an I will give you an email) then I can create checksum on it. If you (Mastersoft) are willing to send me a legitimate copy (for the purpose of this test only) I will create a checksum from that and compare.
It would be an interesting experiment and I like to think that I have some credibility :)

Howard I still have the file I downloaded yesterday and yes, they are different sizes. The thing is if somebody says they are sending you the dodgy file, then how do you know that they really are ?

We're working on a version right now that is full of bugs ... and not a single hard reset in sight ...
