Don't worry about it. I understand your position. The thing is that my Axim DID hard-resetted itself while playing the demo version of your game. Regardless of the pirated versions in the internet I do believe there is a strange bug in your software.

I'll try it again to see if I can duplicate the problem, but I'm currently away from home and can't afford to lose any data just right now.

Apologies but like I said I don't believe you. Take the guy who started this thread for instance. He says he paid for it. Okay let him prove it. I guarantee he never bought it and as there are only two places to buy it I can prove it (if the moderator is willing to cross ref with details held on poster).

Yep - both the .CAB and the .EXE setup files have been clearly modified in the eMule version. Wow - I guess I was expecting that they'd been subtle about it :)

Frustrating as it is, we can't do that. If the original poster is willing to send his name and details and allow the information to be made public then that's the right approach.

I'll try both the demo and eMule version and see if either cause a hard reset on my 4150.

Howard,

If you want to forward them on to me (tabten5@gmail.com would be good) then I can try them out on an x50v (as some are contending that it may be x50v-specific.)

That's okay. I really don't need you to believe me as I'm confident it really happened. Perhaps it wasn't your software alone, but a combination of yours and a third party one.

The real problem here is whether you'll simply deny the fact that it may happen and let it die away or really look into it. That's the difference between a good developer and a top developer.

Mastersoft - are you ok with me forwarding the cracked version to Martin to test? He can download the demo from your website for comparison purposes.

What would you suggest I do ? There are heaps of people testing the next update right now. They have never had this issue and new testers join up all the time. There are also a large number of people that have bought it using it without a hitch. Why would a demo hard reset and not the version that was paid for ? Seems strange to me that all those who paid for it got an okay copy. Would we really sabotage just the demo ?

Let's just agree to differ.

I agree.

Just remember. Not everyone is a pirate, and almost anyone is a good feedback source.

Ok, I've tried both the cracked version and the official demo from the website. The demo one ran smoothly, no reset of either sorted occurred or was otherwise needed. Software on the x50v running when played included Wisbar Advance 2, PocketBreeze, iLauncher, PI, Weatherpanel.

The cracked version, however, played smoothly for a while, and then froze in the middle of completing a grid. Then, after about 10 seconds or so, it "blipped" and triggered a hard reset.

So, the inference would be that only the cracked version is bugged.

I'm not trying to defend my position on whether I was using a pirated version or not. As I said before I know I tryed a demo version downloaded from a renowned distributor.

The reset on my device was as follows: I played the game until the demo ended. I quit the game and then when I activated a different aplication my screen went blank and then resetted, no beep during the game and no freezing of the game.

I claimed that was Mastersoft's game because the other program I used (Garmin Que) has been on my axim for a long long time and has never acted up like this.

I really have heard it all now. You quit our app and started another ... but you're blaming our app. Incredible.

Well we knew that Tabten and I'm guessing you did too. Hope you like the demo. PM me if you want the full version.

jledesman,

My comments were directed at Mastersoft (and Howard as a corollary) as part of the test suggested.

I wasn't "attacking" your position on whether you used a pirated version or not, so there's no need to reiterate your belief; for my purposes, whether or not you used an official or pirated version is redundant. I was simply reporting that the official version on my unit ran fine.

Hope this clears things up.
