Mastersoft's SuDoKu

tried playing this game twice since installation

both times, it has done a hard reset on my axim x30h after about 5 - 10 minutes of play

first time i got burned as i hadn't done a backup for a while... but second time i was lucky and did a backup

but this is still a big problem
My x30h is da bomb

Same here, but on an X50v. After playing the demo for about 10 minutes the screen went blank (actually all white) and then I was prompted to tap the screen to start using my Pocket PC Device

Fortunately I had just backed up. Still I'm not chancing this game again

Strange - been running it on my X50v since it first came out and never had any problems. You are running the correct compact framework?

I know I have the correct framework. Perhaps it's a bug on the demo version. Which I believe it's restrained on the amount of time you can play on each session. Do you have a full version?

You should email Mastersoft and either ask for a refund or a solution to your problem.

HARD RESET??? That is horrible news. I would really avoid that program and report it back to the company. Also, if they are having severe compatibility issues, you should try to get your money back for it.

I've been using it since the beta test period on my X50v and I haven't had any problems. I'd email (or, PM) Mastersoft. Their support seems very good and I'm sure they'd like to know about such problems.

We're aware of a number of versions doing the rounds on crack sites / share networks that hard reset devices but there's no way the trial from our site could do that. Just isn't possible.

Incidentally a user told us it hard reset his device but upon further investigation he admitted he got it off Emule.

We've sold thousands of copies via iPAQChoice and had over a 100 testers ... and this has never happened.

We have no control over crack sites or share networks so sadly there is nothing we can do about it except to advise you to download from a reputable source.

Okay I just got Emule up and running and tried two so called cracked versions and they both hard reset two different machines. What's more there appear to be zillions of versions on there

So there you have it. Download from a reputable site.

Dom,

Is there some to contact on/in Emule regarding this? As recent court cases have shown, sharing sites/software are repsonsible for illegal material being shared via their resource. I would contact them and request they make all efforts to remove said material.

I don't think so Martin. We had the same issue when a website was doing the same but were told there was nothing we could do since they were not actually hosting any files themselves. The website in question still updates every day with all the latest releases.

Also we're just too small a company to have the resources to do anything. All we can ask is that people get our software from legitimate download sites.

I'm hoping the mighty power of the record industry will have some luck against sharing copyrighted material ...

It doesn't matter about whether they host the files or not, it's the software that is the key: see here for Q+As regarding the recent US Supreme Court decision. I know you're a small company, and it's pretty rubbish that idiots out there crack software and then put it on file-sharing networks. Nevertheless, I think it's worth attempting to bring some pressure to bear.

PM or email me, Dom, if you plan to give it a go and I'll talk it over with you.

Cheers Martin,
I already informed Handango as all their stuff is on there and their legal department is working on it though I don't know if they have got anywhere. Maybe that new ruling will change things but I think I'll leave all the legal grief to the experts.
