Virtual Pool Mobile runs like a charme, much much better than without 2700g-speedup. Smooth, sharp textures, just like another game. If you already have the non accerelated version, write an email to celeris support, you'll get a special upgrade price (12,95 EUR in my case).

I'm quite impressed with your list/faq of games/programs that work on the intel 2700 gpu chip
(ie. Dell Axim X50v/X51v.)
Maybe Biohzrd can update his first post with your knowledge ;)...
While I do agree his posts are quite informative and helpful, the purpose of my thread was to merely list the current games/apps out there that use the 2700g and not review them. If menneisyys wants, I could like to the individual posts to his reviews of the games so people can go there for further information.

Also, I don't see anything besides the jellyfish "Game" that I dont currently have listed. I will add that to the tech demo part.

Agreed. Your list is a very nice one; lengthy reviews don't need to be added to it. I've only posted the reviews as additional information to make one's choice easier, not (necessarily) to be added to the list.

Well they finally released Tony Hawk 2 to the world. It is now available on Handango and theres also a non accelerated version available for those who have at least a 500 MHz processor.

List of Supported devices for THPS2

Even though there's one entry at Fandango, there's an installer for x50v/x51v and unaccelerated PDAs. If you buy THPS2, then you get both installers.

Updated to include the handango versions of THPS2. Also (hopefully) made it more readable within the limits of Aximsite's forum code

Just posted a detailed review & tutorial of Cube 3D to http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=125311 - it's highly recommended!

A new game is out at http://www.pocket-jongg.com/default.aspx ; my review:

Owners of Pocket PC’s with the great Intel 2700G graphics accelerator chip certainly want more and more games that make use of the excellent features of this wonder. This is why I’ve jumped right on the new, V5 version of Pocket-Jongg 3D as soon as I’ve heard of it.

I didn’t have high expectations because, in general, board games don’t really make use of the 3D capabilities of the 2700G. A well-known example of these games is Jackpot Casino 1.01 (see my review here).

Fortunately, Pocket-Jongg is definitely better than Jackpot Casino. You can tilt the board, zoom (with the invisible vertical slider) and slide it (with the also invisible horizontal one) and the title animation is pretty good too. In addition, the game uses high resolution, which is certainly welcome on Pocket PC devices. Finally, the game runs in both Landscape (see screenshot here; in this screenshot, the Frame per second (FPS) value is also displayed, showing the 3D speed of the game) and Portrait (see screenshot here), depending on the current system-level orientation), which is good news for anyone sensitive of the problems of the uneven polarization of the Axim screens in Landscape mode.

Important note

If you want to download the trial from Handango, do not follow the link provided on the official homepage of the game because it’ll result in an internal server error. Use this link instead (and thank my knowledge of the HTTP protocol for making it work ;-) ).

Verdict

If you have a Dell Axim x50v/x51v, give it a try – you’ll most probably like it.

Note that...

The game also supports the ATI 2D chip. I haven’t had the chance to test it with ATI-enabled Pocket PC’s. I don’t think the 3D animation, especially on VGA devices, will be as fast on them as on a 2700G device.

Haha, this game has been "coming soon" just about as long as Duke Nukem Forever.

my x51v didn't come with any of those games :( just bubble breaker and solitaire... both being a waste of space IMO.

Are you sure there aren't any games in \EXTRAS\DEVICE\ on the CD that came with the PDA?
