That would be an excellent idea! I would love to play Quake II on my Pocket PC!

Let's get the current one working good first :)
Things NEEDED/broken - MUSIC
- Touchscreen input for looking up/down (thinking more along the lines of a slider on the LH side of screen, not simple up/down buttons as on the right)
- the ability to use the Wireless ON/OFF button
- Console - with the device keyboard or a custom keyboard showing up for input.
- Bigger info screen (bullets, health, etc) on the bottom - FILL that whole space up!
Anyone else have stuff they want?

Yes it is. Though when i was using it, I was also using vga out, and the results were pretty poor. I did, however, successfully and fairly easily map the keyboard keys. But vga out slows things considerably, so i'm sure with just the bt keyboard you'll be fine :approve:

Not if you disable the x50v's screen by pressing the power on+record buttons.

Nice review, seems like we're getting a wave of X50v optimized games these days :approve:

I played through Dimension of the Doomed (Episode 1) without problem but
after a few levels in The Realm of Black Magic (Episode 2) I am encountering some serious frame drops at places and sound out of sync where there are:
- "knights" that shoot some plasma gun and particles float around
- More than one of the larger enemies at screen at once.
- Sometimes when there are lots of zombies...

Yes, ive had the same problems, the game NEEDS a bit more optimization.
Let's hope its optimized more with a new patch and the previously mentioned fixed, like... STYLUS CONTROL!

Even with the screen off, Quake still runs a lot crappier in vga-out, unlike the Geo Rally Ex, which runs almost perfectly with vga out and bt keyboard.

I doubt that would make the game play better.
Quake I was designed to be played by a mouse, as are most FPS games, that's a fact of life.
I don't understand the people behind Quake Mobile, Pocket Quake's input system IS PERFECT. Why ruin a perfect thing by introducing shoddy small on screen controls to a FPS?!? That's counter inuitive and a royal PITA to play a game that by all accounts should be awesome.
I mean look Quake Mobile developers, if your reading this. I know its exciting to have new and fancy things like the onscreen soft keys for this game, but these novelties are sometimes not appropriate for the actual game. This game with a LITTLE more optimization and stylus control would be perfect.
I keep going back to Pocket Quake simply because its much easier to run around, jump and aim with a d-pad & stylus combo. Simply put, the Quake Mobile controls really really stink. Case in point, try to fight 3 soldiers at the same time by using the on screen controls, you can't strafe and aim at the same time, period. Also, forget about shooting while your strafing or aiming either, your hand is more likely to suffer severe injury from all your fingers trying to coordinate 3 button presses on those teeny soft buttons at the same time.
BRING BACK STYLUS CONTROL, I BEG OF YOU, QUAKE MOBILE GUYS, IF YOUR LISTENING, THIS GAME HAS EVERYTHING GOING FOR IT EXCEPT THE CRAPTACULAR CONTROLS! FIX THAT (and a little optimization of the game so it runs smoother) AND YOU GOT YOURSELVES A WINNER!

Has anyone tried to use the TO BT Keyboard and Mouse? If they both work that should hopefully allow for circle strafing.

Yes, I've tried them both. The keyboard works fine. Until someone edits the config file to add the capability, if it's even possible, the mouse is useless. Oh what a game this would be if we could get both keyboard and mouse to work!
