Quboid, Thanks.. You've inspired me, and I'll make an option that replaces all the computer players with regular cards and fancier title bars and text, in all modes. Its one of those things where Im not sure why I didnt do it before, as most of the card rooms do it. I guess I just got locked into the idea of playing with the players, as that's what a lot of people like, but why not appeal to those who don't too. Its pretty much all Aces has and people still buy it(and some prefer it), so.....

Yes, VGA, Square sceen, and WM2005 support are all on the way soon...

AWESOME!! I'd like that better than the current UI. Thanks a lot!

Sounds good Birdiestyle. Got an ETA for this and VGA support? Need a beta tester?

I agree, Birdie, all you need is cards, not players.

Wow! I guess it was a good idea.. I have it already drawing that way internally. It looks pretty good. Not sure about ETA, but should be in October. Im so surprised I never thought to do it, and no one ever suggested it.... Wow!

I also have a new desktop version of PokerTimer(probably will need a rename with this release) that I really want to have done by October 15th so I can use it during my own 50 man semi-annual tournament I throw. It will be way cool too, doing pretty much everything from seating, chips, payouts, levels, etc.... So both programs are fighting for development time....

Thanks All!!

Well I have 2 of the new features done and in there....

New Format, does this improve it?

Square Screen Support(Guess not as pertinent for Dell right now , but the new WM Treo is coming.. :) )

These will be released in the upcoming version 2.2. Im trying to figure out my library situation now, for WM2005 and VGA support and what I should do...

COOL! I like it better without the players. Now that theres more screen space (player-less mode) can you consider making the cards a little bigger and more visible (for playing under sunlight, or in a car)? Let us know when 2.2 is released. :)

one thing in your app that kinda bugs me and could be improved - somehow make the 5 best cards that the winning person used show. For example, move the three cards that the winner used up about halfway compared to the two that they don't. Also, It's a pain trying to figure out who was second place (I know it doesn't matter) when multiple people get straights or flushes. Is it possible to instead of showing the winning hand as "Pair" or "Flush" to PA (Pair of aces) or Flush A High. Maybe this could be done graphically?

Also, on your latest graphic, are people instead of cards going to be an option? I'm not too keen on the idea of taking people out of it.

I know it's a lot to ask, but maybe it will help with ideas.

Yeah, its definitately only an option, I know a lot of people like playing the "characters". I try not to ever take anything away when making a new version.

Hmmmmm.. Ive definitely considered that idea before... I'll have to think thru it again.... For some reason I never thought it would be that clear what the raised cards are being played with, if there are multiple winners and/or pots....

Ill consider the other idea a little more as well... I dont really want to get into saying stuff like "two pair aces and deuces" or "Flush A K J high" (if there are multiple flushes) with the limited room available...

Thanks..

Ok, I have released version 2.2 with the "no character" mode inspired by this thread, and wm2005 and square screen support.

Sorry no VGA quite yet, Im trying to decide on what to do
about graphic libraries, the graphics are pretty much done...

All-In Hold 'Em

Thanks all!!

I just played it w/the no player mode and now the cards are real big. My only suggestion is this: I remember reading something about not needing a stylus to play. If the 3 boxes on the bottom left were bigger or separated then I would worry about pressing the wrong one w/my fingers. As it is, I feel I definitely need a stylus. Love the improvements and feedback, Birdie!
