Quake Mobile and Mods?

I just purchased QM and love it! I am having trouble getting mods to work, however. Any old Quakers out there who might be able to point me in the right direction?

I downloaded the 'Fantasy Quake' Mod and copied the "FQ" folder containing the PAK files into the Quake Mobile Folder on my Axim. But don't know where to go from there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

Help?

Surely someone has Quake Mobile, and can us out here...

I tried researching on the web, but a bit hard to put commnd line switches on the quakemobile executable, unless I'm missing something...

Does anyone here know how to setup mods? The support at quake mobile stated that someone here outlined this process of installing and playing mods here at aximsite, but damned if I can find where...

I don't believe this helps with getting mods working on Quake Mobile...

And as far as I have read, it still didn't run on anyone's Pocket PC thus far (64MB of available working memory!!!! :rolling: ), and even if it did, how many FPS? (5fps was quoted... barely a slideshow...) I don't have a 128 MB unit... (x50v here...)

Thanks for the reply, but the topic didn't have anything to do with Quake 3...

I have mods working for me fine :) :)

Hi Adam, I have mods working for me .. this reply may be 3 years late but hey I only got the game 3 days ago..

It’s best if you understand what’s going on here rather than a quick instructions..

On the pc version; mods are activated by making a shortcut like so…

“c:\quake\quake.exe” –game fantasy

However this doesn’t seem to work in quake mobile for mods: Quake mobile mods only appear to work when the PAK file from the mod is copied directly in to the id1 folder where quake is installed.. be careful here though:

Quake mobile has two pak files here: pak0.pak and pak1.pak. These are the core game files. To install the mod, the pak file(s) from the mod should be renamed pak2.pak, pak3.pak and so on; and copied in to the id1 folder. Be careful you don’t overwrite any files.

Now start quake mobile normally and you’re away!

To deactivate the mod, rename the files to pak2.fantasy or similar. Switching between mods requires similar renaming as above.

Happy modding!
