Worried DELL GPS - Can it be upgraded???

Hi,

Just bought a DELL BLUETOOTH GPS receiver off Ebay for my X50V. It is the one that Dell sells themselves featuring the bluetooth receiver and Navtech software.
On the receiver, it says revision is A00. Can this be upgraded? and is there a later revision that can be downloaded?
I went onto the Dell website and put in the service tag number on the side of the receiver, but it would not accept the number??

Also if you are able to help:-
Used the navigation software for the first time while coming into work today. Seemed to work fine, but then it just froze. Nothing else was running on the X50v. Anyone else experienced this?

Any help appreciated..

1. no new gps software for download/free. (purchase=yes)
2. try a soft-reset.

Ok, thanks for the advice.
I have tried it and it seems to be working fine now.

My Dell GPS is driving me nuts, and it has nothing to do with the software. Software seems accurate and as good as I could expect. BUT, when I put my axim X50v in the fancy little winshield mount holder that comes with it, the bottom front of the holder presses the scroll touch pad and buttons and consistantly freezes up the navigation screen. It seems like an incredibly silly design for the holder. Does anyone have any suggestions besides getting a new holder?

Also, my screen goes dim as normal power saving kicks in after I don't touch the screen for a few minutes. Is there anyway to simply disable that feature automatically when it is working as a GPS. It's frustrating when I forget to switch the power saver off, and I have to tape the screen to see the navigation every few minutes.

EDITED For Family Viewing.

Some software will hold the brightness up. I just uncheck the box and disable the screen dimming when on external power. It's always on external power in the car using GPS, so the screen stays bright. You only need to dim the screen to save power on battery anyway.
