Rikaline 6033 w/ OCN 5, and Akron DM320 on the way!!!
I got the Rikaline 6033 with OCN 5 and the Akron DM320 powered mount. Bought it from buygpsnow.com
I got overnight shipping and FedEx tracking showed it being delivered today!!!
Can't wait to check it out. I'm traveling a little bit this weekend and I'll hopefully get the hang of it. I'll be in Chicago next weekend for a long weekend vacation. I won't be driving around Chicago, but thought it would be neat to use while on foot. Might be overkill, but hey everything I do is overkill!!!
Anyways, I want to take some pix of the setup when I get it going, so people can see how it works and such. Of course that is if I have time and I'll stop being lazy.
Anyways, for reference I got a 2003 Honda Civic EX Sedan that I'll be putting this in.
Can't wait to play with my new toy!!!! :approve:

Did the 10% off coupon for aximsite members still work at buygpsnow? Just wondering if it was still valid. Thanks.

Yeah the coupon worked for me.
Got the GPS unit charged and OCN 5 installed on my CF card. Bought a 512MB Ultra II Sandisk CF Card for the maps.
I mounted my Akron mount this morning and something happened with my cigarette lighter port. Stopped working. I'll have to mess with it. Then if that wasn't enough when I would start OCN it would get stuck on the Accident Agreement screen. I got to work to fix it and it worked flawlessly. I even had a GPS signal in my work building. It would go in and out, but got it good enough to find my location. Pretty cool.
Hopefully, I can get my cigarette lighter port to work, I dunno if I broke it or what.

Most probable answer is that your new toy caused a surge and burnt the fuse for your cig lighter port. Or it was broken before. Check your cig lighter port fuse before doing anything else. If broken, replace it. And try again.

Yeah, I've thought that too.
I'll have to pull out the fuses and check.
Tha car is still under warranty, so if something is broken I can get them mto fix it.
I had a splitter on it that was going to a radar detector and the Akron mount.
The plug says it is rated for 12V - 120W, that would be 10 Amps.
Does the Akron mount pull that much???

Question on the power hookups that come with the Akron mount and the Rikaline.
The plugs look similar to the X51v plug that came with it.
Are these compatible?
I'll be sure to check the voltage rating and such, but one of them came with a cigarette plug that goes out to a USB port, so shouldn't anything that can charge from a USB port work on this?
Would it supply a different Voltage or Current than the USB spec??

It shouldn't. Even if it provides 2 A at 5V, that's only 10W, or .8A at 12v. It may be that either you shorted it out plugging it in, or that there is a short in the power cord for the mount. Get the fuses checked, replace the blown one and try again, but have a second spare, just in case.

You have the same make as me. My Honda's cig lighter port is also rated at 10A, but I blew mine due to bad Seidio cig light adapter power cable that came with the Seidio G2500 mount. So, I bought a Radioshack cable upon advise from dlweston (user on this board) and its been working very well.
I would not have thought that the Honda's 10A fuse would blow before the power cable adapter itself which has a 3A fuse). I pulled out the 3A fuse and found that it was not even blown but the Honda's fuse was! So, after blowing my Honda's fuse like 6 times (I think), I finally bought a different cig power adapter.
Good luck.

Ok, I found out what my problem was.
The splitter I was using had a short.
I went through another fuse and had nothing plugged in but the splitter and it blew the fuse leading me to that conclusion.
I got a new splitter from RadioShack along with a few fuses.
That fixed my problem.
Thanks for the help though. Glad I got it fixed and now I can use my GPS while charging my Axim!!! :approve:

I have a Holux GR236, same chipset as Globalsats, and I recently bought a Rikaline 6033 for the fun of it :)
The 6033 is better than my old Holux GR-231, but the Gr-236 is better than the 6033. It tracks sattelites better, normally about 8 to 12 sats at a time, where the 6033 usually is about 7-8 and often goes down to 2 or 3 at places where the GR-236 is rock stable.
I dont know if I am dreaming this up, but to me it seems that with the 6033, map movement is a little bit laggy. And with the GR-236 screen moves instantly when I change directions. (pothole etc.)
Hope You found this usefull!
