Welcome to aximsite! For GPS, read the reviews here in the hardware section. There are reviews of both hardware and software. The X50 presents some new challenges in that the vendors haven't all caught up with the changes Microsoft made, so not all of them are compatible yet. OnCourseNavigator5 is compatible, others will run but can't route to a contacts entry. Others don't run at all.

Read the reviews, read some of the threads here. You'll see what's going on in the X51/GPS world.

Having just gone through the same scenario - I went with a bundled package from buyGPSnow.com for the BT338 and iGuidance 2.1.3, as well as a powered dock mount for the car. For pricing it seemed to be the best deal around as opposed to building it from different sources/vendors (eBay, etc...)

Same package here. I went with the Arkon CM720 for my powered mount. I've only used it once, but it worked flawlessly.
