Try Teletype

Teletype GPS software (www.teletype.com) claims to be Windows Mobile 5 compatible. Maybe give them a try.

I have used it for years and have been very happy with it. I am awaiting my X51v that I just ordered so I can try it on that.

One more note

It has been my experience with bluetooth GPS receivers and GPS software that it is important to follow these steps:

1) Turn on the BT GPS receiver let it "get up and running".
2) Turn on BT on the PPC
3) Start the GPS software, it should then give you the opportunity to select the BT device, choose the BT GPS receiver.

As long as you have set up the right COM port in the GPS software, everything should run quite nicely.

I have found that if you start the GPS software, the PPC tries to start BT on its own and it hangs and never works.

I am using an X51v with a Tomtom Navigator 5 GPS and their software, so long as I enable BT it comes up just fine every time. I am having issues related to trying to install near 1Gb of maps so that I have every street in the US and Canada without Activesync failing at 80% on each 100-140Mb section, but now that I have the west and Canada in I can wait and see if the X51v either finishes dying or the new ROM fixes the SD and connection issues. WiFi is another matter, the whole thing sucks, but I'll post about that elsewhere.

unclesam,

Are you saying you have got your BT gps to partner and work with your x51V, WM5 an the Dell Navigation System software? Are you using the lasted updated Dell Nav software or their original from the CD? I've been trying with x50V upgraded to WM5 and their latest release...no luck so far. I'll try your approach and report.

BTW my GPS is Pharos iGPS-BT
