My GPS Order comments?

I am not Very Active on here and I have neglected my axim for the past year since I got my x30 Mid for my birthday last year.

I finally decided to go out and add GPS to my axim's functions since I will be travelling to lots of job interviews in the coming months.

My Order is as follows:

Pro-Clip Angled mount for my 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX

This is the perfect location for my axim, I can not stand ANYTHING in my driving view short of my radar detector which needs to be seen and my A/C vents are in short commodity so I wasnt going to block any of them.

Attached to that mount is the siedio G2500S

According to what I have read I can mount the swivel mount of the G2500 to the Pro-Clip and have a hardwire run right into my cig lighter area to keep the wires to a minimum.

Last, I ordered from buygpsnow the OCN christmas edition. The reason for this is twofold:
1. I dont have a reciever or any decent sized SD card to hold many maps.
2. I want to have all of the usa on one card

So with that according to buygpsnow I will have OCN 5(XL)
the OnCourse BT-339 Bluetooth GPS receiver and Rechargable Battery and a 1 gb SD card.

In the end my axim will be mounted on that small area in the sedio mount and hopefully it works out well.
If I don't like OCN I can always move to another software option.

My goal was to get a really clean GPS look with very little wires and no obtrusive mounts. This seemed to be the best option.

Opinions?

Comments?

I will post pics once I install it, chances are I will use the cig lighter until I get a chance to rip apart my dash and hardwire the mount.

Sounds like you have a great plan :approve:

The only issue with mounting too low is that your eyes leave the road to view the screen. I agree though that you do not want to obstruct your view either.

I mount my ax on the left side of the steering wheel, about half above and below the dash line. Works great and does not obstruct view at all.

I thought of that and I was going to mount it right where my Vent is to the right of my steering wheel but my XM radio is currently taking that spot.

Its possible I order aproclip mount for the other location and see if i would like to swap the xm radio and the axim.
