Tomtom not recognising BT338 GPS

Can anyone help. I have been unable to get tomtom to find my GPS. I have succesfully installed GPS using com7, baud 38400. Bluetooth is succesfully paired. GPS info shows that there is a good fix on >4 satelites.

Have tried preferences as 'other GPS, com7 baud 38400 and then 'other cable nmea GPS' com7 baud 38400: Neither works!

Have then tried every other combination of com channels and baud rates. I have had this software over 2 weeks without being able to install it. From other posts it looks as though Tomtom (or rather Joe Public) has some serious problems with this product.

regards

John

Try setting baud to 4800.

make sure that gpsinfo is not running while tomtom is running (only one app at the time can use the gps connection)

Not unless you're running GpsGate but otherwise, you're correct.

Katzer

many thanks - problems solved. Should I have known this? Guess I owe Tomtom some humble pie.
