Locating GPS receiver with Axim 51v

I recently purchased a new axim with a dell gps hardwired unit for vehicle use. I have attempted to utilize Tech support to no avail....My questions are as follows,
Should the unit need to use Blue tooth to communicate?
What should the system setting be on the axim for the receiver to be recognized?
Thanks for your help

I have an Axim X50v with WM5 (same as X51v) and a BT338 Bluetooth GPS reciever. I did not have to do anything special to connect it to the axim, just paired them, simple to do and then useed OCN5 to automatically locate and set it up. Was easy, as long as you use OCN5. Others reported problems configuring using other GPS software.

timbo,

You indicated you have the hardwired kit, so that means no need for Bluetooth. For the wired GPS receiver included in Dell's Navteq kit, there are no settings that need to be changed at all for communication with your X51v. However, do realize that you need to power the receiver, which for the Dell wired kit, you need to be in the car since they only give you a cigarette lighter adapter to power up. If it's not powered, it won't be recognized by your Axim.
