Hmm TomTom 5.1 voice alerts sound scratchy

Hiya,

I have just got Tomtom 5.1 installed on my X5 and am having some issues with scratchyness during voice warnings/directions.

When I choose a voice and test it, it sounds fine.
Once I am moving (or a Demo is playing), it sounds scratchy or stuttery.

This is for the standard Jane voice and an additional voice downloaded from here

This also applies to the voice warnings from the same site.

Any one got an idea?
When I watch films or listen to Music the sound is fine.

Thanks,

Paul Ryder

In the volume preferences menu turn off the 'link volume to car speed' option.

As {A} says, it's likely to be because when you start moving it tries to increase the volume (to cover engine noise) and ends up too loud for the little speaker. If it is stuttering it may also be that the machine is struggling to process the sound whilst doing all the GPS/3d map stuff. Have you made sure you're running at maximum CPU performance?

Thanks dude's, I'll turn that option off.
I had already set the CPU running at Max (400mhz), I would have thought it would have been up to the job.

This is going through a powered mount as well.

Thanks,

Paul. :approve:

Nice fix guys..

Although I do have to keep the Axim's volume at 50% or less.
