Navigon 5, Dell X51v and BT338
Hi all
Has anyone managed to get this combination to work.
I can get wm5 to recognise the gps receiver on com 8, but navigon mobile navigator 5 doesn't allow me to select com 8.
GPS info reports its recieving good signals.
I have only been able to set the receiver to com 7 or 8.
Navigon shows me com1, 2native IR, 3IRcomm, and 5 BTuart
Can anyone help?

My BT-339 (same HW as BT-338) works fine. The only problem I had was that it sometimes does not dectect the BT-339 if I turn it on and then immediately launch OCN5. If this is what you are experiencing, then just wait for the BT-338 to establish a connection before lanching OCN5 or vice verca.

My x51v/WM5 works well with Navigon MN5 5.1 and with my Garmin GPS10 unit. This is what I did...
Note: x51v & BT GPS must both turn on and paired before starting.
* Go to GPS setting...
* click Automatic Detection...
* wait for bluetooth device to be detected
* after that, I automatically gave this setting for me:
- "Receiver w/o TMC - Garmin GPS 10
- Port: Bluetooth
- Baud: 38400
* select save...
* Restart MN5
... and now I'm on my way testing it :D
x51v / WM5
1GB CF, 1GB SD
Garmin GPS 10 Deluxe
QUE Navigator (2.70)
Navigon MN5 (5.1 Update)
IGuidance 2.1.1 (W/0 Patch)

Grr
I switched it back on this morning and it just refused to work, gps info is still reporting good signals but MN5 just can't find the bluetooth device.
I have tried the Automatic Detection option till I'm blue in the face with no luck. It just can't find the receiver.
Originally to get it working I had to use the GPS utility under the settings in wm5, set one to com 8 and the other to com 5. Then MN5 recognised the device on Com5.
Now i'm out of ideas!

In addition to my instruction,
I also went tomy WM5 GPS Settings...
and in the
"Choose the port that programs will use to obtain GPS data. Any program that uses GPS will need to communicate with this port.
GPS program port: COM0"
"Specify the hardware port to which your GPS device is connected. Form more information, see the GPS device mfr's documentation.
GPS hardware port: "COM7"
Baud rate : "33600"
Access : check the Manage GPS automatically(recommeded)
Note:
Make sure that your GPS BT setting (COM PORTS TAB) is connected in Com7 for the outgoing Port

Remove the partnership. Go to GPS icon in settings. Turn that all off. Establish a new partnership. For me, there was no need to map it to a com port to get OCN5 to recognize it. However I mounted it to get GPS tuner to see it so I mounted COM7 as an outgoing port.
OCN appears to access the BT connection slightly different. Hence no need to really configure anything. Heck I dont even think you need a partnership. It will automatically create one if none exists. What I think is happening with you is that you have it set up a little different than what OCN5 expects and its screwing up the detection software.
