Ok, so here goes. I have an Axim X50v with
TomTom Navigator 5 and a GPS cradle (so wired GPS, not bluetooth). Everything was all well and good with Windows Mobile 2003 installed, running
TomTom 5.12. No problems with the program or with the GPS. For some reason I got the bright idea to "upgrade" to WM5

After that, I could not for the life of me get
TomTom (which I now have upgraded to version
5.21) to detect my GPS device. No matter what settings I try (set GPS to managed/unmanaged in windows settings, different ports, etc.),
TomTom just tells me "No GPS Device Detected!". I have tried other programs to test my GPS unit, including
TomTom GPS (separate from TT Navigator), and they all work fine with my GPS on com port 1. In TTN, when I go into the GPS configuration, the option for Com 1 is down at the bottom of the list, but for the identification, it just has a bunch of junk characters (which viewed in
TomTom GPS look like russian characters) followed by com 1, which isn't even visible on the screen because of all the crap in front. I have tried googling solutions, but I've only seen a couple other people post anything about this problem, and nobody has given them any helpful feedback. Everything else I've found has been for bluetooth GPS units.
So basically, I would like to know if anyone else has had any luck using a wired GPS with WM5 and
TomTom Navigator 5, or if anyone might know a possible solution to my problem.
Thanks in advance :approve:
