Sorry if my terminology is wrong. I'm a total newbie to GPS. My husband and I are truck drivers and this sounds like a very handy item to have. Right now, we just go from terminal to terminal and the route is the same. But soon we are going to start going all over the country again. Our company gives us routing into the places we are going, but they are not always right. They are really bad about giving directions from one point only. (We spent over an hour once in San Francisco trying to find an exit while going northbound on a highway only to eventually find that you could only exit onto that street if you were going southbound! ) At times like this, a GPS unit and detailed maps would've come in handy.
What I am looking for is one that will show me the route beforehand so I can compare it to the directions the company gives me. I was looking at the deal on the OCN5 package, but I saw in a thread here that it won't give you a route list in advance, and that is something that we would need. Can anyone tell me which units I should look at for this feature? Thanks!
Oops, forgot to tell you what I'll be using it on! I've got an X50V with WM2003.

Any GPS unit will show the route you want. It's the mapping software (i.e. Microsoft Streets & Trips) that defines the route.
For example, you type in an address (anywhere in the USA) and the route is planned/defined for you and your GPS will show your progress along that route. You can also apply filters to allow scenic or direct route, avoid construction, define hotels/motels, gas stations, cafe's, points of interest, etc, etc. Never get lost or take the wrong exit again.
While OCN5 does not give you the route list, it does show the entire route on the map. You can move the map around, zoom in, etc. It's pretty handy; I use it all the time.
The route list was available in version 4, but missing in 5. OCN has heard a lot of complaints about this; my guess is it will be back in the next version.

I think you'll be happy. Be certain to read the install directions completely; specifically the free memory part. If you have any questions, post back here - lots of folks with OCN experience. :approve:

Screen shots and videos there. I (and many other gps'ers) in this forum have purchased gps combo's thru buygpsnow.com - they are awesome and sell lots of packages. :approve:
