IMPORTANT!! If you did any transactions with Garmin within the last 6 months make sure to go over you bank statements.



Back in September of 2005 I called Garmin tech support to purchase a CD. It cost me $5.00. Today I noticed 14 $5.00 transactions from Garmin International! I called my bank treating it as identity fraud and filed a report. I also spoke with Garmin who informed me that their company system was randomly charging customers numerous times. They informed me that if I faxed them my banking statement, they would reimburse me the difference. Uhh.. I don't think so. This infuriated me and as far as I am concerned this in not an accident but incompetence on their part. I opted to let the fraud report from my bank go through and have Garmin properly answer to authorities. 14 consecutive $5.00 transactions and they did nothing proactive to correct it. Instead, they waited for me to call them. Based on the way they worked with me over the phone regarding this incident sent red flags that had I not called, they would not have reimbursed me.



Again, check you bank statements if you did any transactions with Garmin International.

I just checked mine, and so far so good. No issues here yet, keeping my ffingers crossed. But I'll keep on monitoring just in case. I hate when this things happen. I have not had any problems with them since I bought Garmin stuff last year in March 2005.
