GPS & Bluetooth stack(s)

I took the plunge and ordered the BT-338 / iGuidance bundle but I have a couple of questions on the bluetooth configuations for my X50v w/WM2003.

1.) I am currently running the A03 ROM - is the any reason to upgrade to a newer ROM if I do not have any problems with this ROM. I know the new ROM has an updated BT stack.

2. I am thinking about getting some BT headphones. I understand that the HP Ipaq BT stack is better for high quality audio with BT headphones. Would installing this stack bork my GPS BT connectivity??

Thanks for any help,

Michael

I am still running A03 and I've had no problems with my BT-338 plus several other software. I didn't see the need to upgrade to later ROMs so I didn't. I also have the Broadcomm BT stack for BT headset use with no effect to my GPS.

Thanks for the quick response Gigi. It's good to hear I don't need to upgrade (hate those hours after a hard reset) If you don't mind my asking, what GPS software are you running??

Right now, I'm running OCN and also beta testing another program.

So I got my BT338/iGuidance bundle and it seems to work pretty well. One question though...

Whenever I start the iGuidance software, I have to select the BT-338 from the BT browser screen even though I successfully paired the devices previously. If I check the "Always use the selected device" box, I get an extra dialog box telling me how to view the setting dialog in the future and have to tap OK before iGuidance starts. If I do not check the "Always use the selected device" box and just tap the BT-338 device in the browser, iGuidance starts right up. <sigh> Seems backwards at the very least because it doesn't seem to stick.

I guess the question is: Do I really have to tell it to connect to the BT-338 each time I start the software even though they have been paired??
