Post Pics of your x51v and GPS setup for your car

Hi All,

I am trying to figure out how to setup my BT GPS receiver and my x51v in my car. I bought an air-vent mount from buygpsnow.com and installed it but I couldnt figure out where to put my BT GPS receiver so that I dont have to start all over again and again whenever I use my GPS in my car. So I request you all to show your setup. If this has been already covered then MODS plz delete this thread.

I attached BT gps in carry case to back of rearview mirror. When I need it for another vehicle, I simply take it out of the case. The case is attached via tie-wrap. I have power to gps from car's rearview mirror connections. GPS is not very visible from the outside of car because of the tint at top edge of windshield.

I use industrial velcro to attach my BT-339 to the back of the rear view mirror of our 2 vehicles and use a cheap Arkon vent mount for the Ax. It has a clear view of the sky as if it needs one, the power button is easy to reach, I can see the status lights reflected in the glass (not obtrusive) and it's not a problem to hook up the charge cable should the rare need occur. I carry the gps and charge cable with me in my briefcase and it's easy to get into either car, set it up and go in a minute or so. Sorry, no pics. If you're looking to mount the gps and hardwire it so it's on all the time, it depends on gps model. The i-blue would be ideal for this, but the BT-338/9 wouldn't as it's auto off feature turns off the unit after 10 min idle, requiring a power button press to re start.

I didnt have to put the Holux GPSlim on my dash at all. Why let the sun bake it? I just put it between driver n passenger seat.

If I am in critical need to find where I am going, I held it in one hand and the other on the steering wheel, othewise I leave between the seats. Of course a bigger car with space helps and automatic transmission help alot too.

The last thing I want is all these suction cups and things hanging everywhere.
